Today we had the absolute pleasure of taking Martha for her first foster day out! Martha was a bit apprehensive for the first few minutes in the car, but once we got going she soon settled. We took her home and she greeted my parents with big soppy kisses and cuddles. She had a crazy first 10 minutes or so exploring the house but once she found the sofa she made sure she gave each and everyone of us cuddles and kisses and begun to relax and chill.

After a few hours of chill time at home we ventured out to the local secure field where, Martha LOVED running around exploring everything and anything she could. We worked on re call with her name and she was very quick to pick it up once she realised there were treats involved 🤣

Sadly our time was soon up and we had to take Martha back to the kennels but cannot wait till the next trip out and potentially over night.

Martha is a big bundle of loving Cane Corso and will be a perfect fit to any big dog loving family!

Thank you Martha for making our Saturday full of fun and joy!

I took Martha the goofball for a walk yesterday. She’s such a funny dog, acts like a puppy even though she’s well into her teenage years. She finds delight in everything, starting for a walk… ooh big jump to head off, change direction …. Ooh big leap in that direction. Absolutely everything is wonderful to her and it’s such lovely energy to be around. She walks well on her own but does get excited seeing other dogs and pulls more when in a group. That being said I think it’s just that she needs more experience of being around other dogs, she’s not shown any negative behaviours towards other dogs, just enthusiasm.
I thinks she’s a sweetheart and will be a loving, large and fun addition to her furever family.

So darling Martha has quite literally found my weak spot, she snuck right in, showed me all of her amazing qualities, I’m an absolute sucker for a goofy, cheeky, rather spicy but oh so loving mastiff and this girl she has without doubt stolen my heart ❤️
This girl she is a mastiff through and through, rather shy on first meeting, but once she knows you and knows that you’re going to be friends well then this big, beautiful girl will not let you out of her sight love4.gif Martha is going to be loyal to a fault, she will love you forever and just asks for the same in return, I’m already jealous of the lucky family that get to call her their girl love4.gif
I’ve been walking at RR for quite a few years now and Martha is just another one of our most amazing and beautiful dogs that just need a chance, a single meeting with someone who gets them, someone with mastiff experience who will absolutely fall in love, love4.gif I adore this girl and am looking forward to seeing her at the centre of her very own family love4.gif

It was so, so lovely to catch up with Martha yesterday love4.gif
She is back from the other kennels and oh how wonderful it was to see her, she is looking amazing love4.gif I couldn’t wait to see Martha and although I wasn’t walking her first I couldn’t resist going to see her for a little cuddle love4.gif she was oh so receptive to seeing a friend and actually bought a little tear to my eye because she was so sweet and loving, considering we hadn’t seen each other for a while she was just lovely, I don’t know what more you could want, this girl is loving and loyal to a fault thumbs.gif and I know all of her walkers agree she is an absolute darling.
Finally it was Martha’s turn for a walk and she was such a good girl, always, always a super excited welcome in her kennel, she’s a big girl with a whole lot of love to share, but never, ever in an over the top way, Martha listens and is very in tune with her people thumbs.gif she exited her kennel beautifully, obviously a little excited, this girl loves to be out and about, but soon settles and as always we had the loveliest of walks love4.gif I loved my time with Martha yesterday, she is the biggest goofball, but with the kindest heart ❤️ every walk with Martha is an adventure, she is pure joy, she is goofy, funny, smart, sensitive, kind and oh so loving and I cannot wait for her to find her most perfect forever home :crossfingers.gif: also I’m going to try to get some up to date photos as Martha is looking beautiful, she has filled out, her coat is super glossy and she’s just looking stunning love4.gif

I was so excited to catch up with Martha yesterday love4.gif she really is that girl who will make you smile the biggest smile, brings huge joy, gives massive cuddles and is the most wonderful goofball ever woo.gif]

So as soon as I entered her kennel Martha made it very clear that she was happy to see a friend, I received lots of happy wiggles, she did jump up in her excitement to see me, but got straight back down when asked, such a good girl. Martha is hugely people orientated and I believe in a home she will absolutely love being at the centre of family life, loved and adored as of course she should be love4.gif

Heading out on our walk I was reminded yet again what a fabulous companion Martha is, she is so blinking happy and is in awe of absolutely everything, you can’t possibly not get drawn into her joy of discovering new things woo.gif] Martha does have the potential to be strong, but for the most part she walks beautifully, it’s only when she becomes excited (usually over things she’s a little unsure about) that you can feel her strength. So yesterday on our walk she was amazing, we did a super long walk and she was such a good girl. We encountered Selwyn, Nori and Enya out with their walkers and stepped aside to let them pass and no reaction at all. Later on 2 joggers ran past and she had this big old goofy grin on her face when she spotted them and all she wanted to do was follow them, so sweet. She did have a bark at 2 horses, but i honestly don’t know if she’s had any experience of them and because she so clever it’s easy to get her focus back on you.
I always think with dogs, particularly big ones that you obviously need that connection, but also for them to listen and understand, Martha has that, I can say wait and she’ll stop, if she gets a bit giddy or overexcited I can ask her to go steady and she gets it, she will be an absolute joy to train and because she loves her people she’ll strive to please love4.gif

Martha and I had the loveliest of walks, as I say for the most part she enjoys sniffing and plodding, just taking it all. I do find that she relaxes more on a solo walk, but it will be good to start doing some social walks once she’s found her feet. So as I've said Martha is very much a people dog and on return to her kennel yesterday she spotted 2 of her favourite people Kiera and Emily and she literally dragged me over so that she could say hello and again she flashed that big smile of hers to receive all of the love love4.gif and then she got all giddy and soppy, honestly she’s such a sweet girlie and if you hadn’t guessed already I really love her.

Then all so soon it was time to return to her kennel, cuddles and treats given, with a promise that I would see her soon, turned out way sooner that I thought as I couldn’t couldn’t resist going in for some final cuddles before going home! Martha was in her element, massive smile, slobbery kisses and more treats.

It’s Martha’s 3rd Birthday tomorrow, of course she will receive all of the love from the staff and walkers, but what this darling, beautiful girl would like more than anything is her most longed for forever home, with a family who love her, she is so ready and oh my goodness the joy she will bring love4.gif

Martha is honestly my kind of doggo! She’s funny, full of personality and totally goofy! She walks so well on a lead, doesn’t pull unless she sees a dog and even then, it’s easy to get her focus back, she’s also a sucker for a treat so will do anything for one! She always greets me with such excitement. I’ve been walking Martha since she came in in December and can’t fault her. She needs some manners taught to her but that’s hard to do whilst lots of people walk her in kennels as we all do things differently but she’s improved so much since being here. She sits and waits for a treat, gives paw too!

This girl has proven to be amazing on foster with Dan too. All she wants is a loving home and a sofa snuggle!

I had an intro to Martha today and am so in love with her already.
Kiss of love.gif
She is a very big girl the pictures dont do her justice she is utterly gorgeous
Martha walked beautifully no pulling but she is a big strong girl so definitely need to be careful around other dogs.
We went to the paddock where she was so goofy and affectionate giving me face licks considering i only just met her.
love4.gif
We had a lot of cuddles in between some running around and her trying to steal treats from my bag.
Martha could definitely do with some training and i think as she is so treat motivated she would be very quick to learn.

We were out late in the day so no other dogs around so she was easy to manage and take back.
I look forward to seeing Martha again soon until her forever home is found.
