I was so excited to catch up with Martha yesterday

she really is that girl who will make you smile the biggest smile, brings huge joy, gives massive cuddles and is the most wonderful goofball ever
So as soon as I entered her kennel Martha made it very clear that she was happy to see a friend, I received lots of happy wiggles, she did jump up in her excitement to see me, but got straight back down when asked, such a good girl. Martha is hugely people orientated and I believe in a home she will absolutely love being at the centre of family life, loved and adored as of course she should be
Heading out on our walk I was reminded yet again what a fabulous companion Martha is, she is so blinking happy and is in awe of absolutely everything, you can’t possibly not get drawn into her joy of discovering new things

Martha does have the potential to be strong, but for the most part she walks beautifully, it’s only when she becomes excited (usually over things she’s a little unsure about) that you can feel her strength. So yesterday on our walk she was amazing, we did a super long walk and she was such a good girl. We encountered Selwyn, Nori and Enya out with their walkers and stepped aside to let them pass and no reaction at all. Later on 2 joggers ran past and she had this big old goofy grin on her face when she spotted them and all she wanted to do was follow them, so sweet. She did have a bark at 2 horses, but i honestly don’t know if she’s had any experience of them and because she so clever it’s easy to get her focus back on you.
I always think with dogs, particularly big ones that you obviously need that connection, but also for them to listen and understand, Martha has that, I can say wait and she’ll stop, if she gets a bit giddy or overexcited I can ask her to go steady and she gets it, she will be an absolute joy to train and because she loves her people she’ll strive to please
Martha and I had the loveliest of walks, as I say for the most part she enjoys sniffing and plodding, just taking it all. I do find that she relaxes more on a solo walk, but it will be good to start doing some social walks once she’s found her feet. So as I've said Martha is very much a people dog and on return to her kennel yesterday she spotted 2 of her favourite people Kiera and Emily and she literally dragged me over so that she could say hello and again she flashed that big smile of hers to receive all of the love

and then she got all giddy and soppy, honestly she’s such a sweet girlie and if you hadn’t guessed already I really love her.
Then all so soon it was time to return to her kennel, cuddles and treats given, with a promise that I would see her soon, turned out way sooner that I thought as I couldn’t couldn’t resist going in for some final cuddles before going home! Martha was in her element, massive smile, slobbery kisses and more treats.
It’s Martha’s 3rd Birthday tomorrow, of course she will receive all of the love from the staff and walkers, but what this darling, beautiful girl would like more than anything is her most longed for forever home, with a family who love her, she is so ready and oh my goodness the joy she will bring
