Shogo's Story: Shogo came in on welfare grounds, was living with 8 other dogs. Akira is one of the others. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Shogo is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Shogo came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Shogo's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: 2 Akitas due to be put to sleep 25th Nov: Urgent call 2 Akitas have run out of time and desperate plea to save them. Both people and dog friendly. Shogo came into RescueRemedies on the 28th Nov 24

On my way back from the rescue I had the pleasure of bumping into Shogo and Kiera on their walk and wow how handsome did he look, especially after his lovely groom.
I could instantly see he has already formed a lovely bond with Kiera and he was so accepting and loving with me.
I was very lucky to receive lots of cuddles and you could instantly he has a great playful and loving temperament
.
He sat so well having cuddles, while Kiera updated me with his fantastic progress:

This special boy would make the best fun loving, loyal companionShogo is a breath of fresh air. Fun, loving, playful, a real character. Affectionate boy, loves his cuddles. Lovely to walk, pulls from time to time and runs at your pace. Passes dogs fine, waits and watches with a waggy tail while dogs and people pass us.

Shogo was feeling a bit under the weather today (recently neutered) , but was very happy to go for a walk. He let me take off his suitical (avoids using a buster collar post op) and off we went. He enjoyed a photo shoot with Anne and a gentle walk. He didn’t mind huge lorries driving past us and took directions very well. Back in his kennel, Keira helped me put his suiticle back on and we both enjoyed lots of cuddles with him. He’s adorable!

Kobi and I have had an amazing jog with Shogo and Kiera last week.
Both boys just loved being in each others company and had the best time running through the forest and puddles

Shogo was super happy to see me yesterday and gave me a big hug and lots of cuddles. He walked very well by busy roads. He’s a wonderful dog!

Shogo was a crowd puller in Pets at Home today. When we arrived he was there with a group of admirers surrounding him
Before leaving he had a quick hello from Bella who was taking over from him on the stall

He is easy to harness very quiet and well behaved
We had a lovely walk around the grounds where shogo got very excited seeing Captain chasing a ball
Then we went to the woods where he again impressed me with how gentle on the lead he is
Shogo is such a lovely boy , calm , quiet and very gentle
Merry Christmas sweetheart hopefully your new home is coming soon
