Billy's Story: Billy has lost his home for being a 10 month pup! Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Billy grew up with another Staffie and children. Billy will be neutered, chipped, and undergo vaccinations. Billy came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Billy's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: This boy Billy was being put to sleep. Intense communication for the family to hang on. They would only wait until Sunday 27th (3 days).
Billy came into RescueRemedies on the 27th Oct 2024

I walked Billy today. What a lovely, friendly, happy little boy. Although initially nervous, he was very happy to be going out. We put his harness on in the car park, which was very successful, and off we went for a long walk. Billy was extremely interested in everything around him, lots of sniffing and exploring, delighted to say hello to strangers, non-reactive with other dogs, and slack leads. As he gets more relaxed and confident, he may become a little more challenging. Billy likes cuddles and attention.

I walked Billy again today. What a fabulous nature he has; friendly, inquisitive and eager to please. We had a wonderful walk, lots of sniffs, thoroughly good natured. He has the potential to be strong, but didn’t show any signs of it today.

Well haven’t I just fell in love. Billy is just the most gentle boy, easy to walk, doesn’t pull at all on his walks. Very loving and sweet and so much to learn still.

Handsome Billy is such a delight to walk! He is mature for his age in the way he walks and play, as he doesn't pull and is quite happy just sniffing at a leisurely pace.
While playing in the paddock he was so good at bringing the ball back after I threw it, which shows great potential for future training. He is so friendly and very willing to trust, I believe he is coping with his time in the kennels quite well. However, he is just a baby! He should be in a home with a family where he can be his playful, loving self.
