Maeve's Story: Maeve was found abandoned and unclaimed on public transport. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Maeve is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Maeve came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Maeve's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: Maeve is very scared and needs a secure setting. We have been asked to help her

Re: Maeve Cane Corso DofB TBAss Comes 27th Sept
Dear Maeve is like Betzy hand shy but like Betzy will stand still to receive a stroke. She is being neutered on Friday and will come to us that afternoon.
Re: Maeve Cane Corso DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
Maeve was spayed yesterday and came into our care. She was very nervous on handover but today has begun to trust and begun to relax. Very easily spooked and very hand shy at this stage but will soon recoup and achieve trust as she was doing in her previous kennels.

Maeve's first walk the morning after her spay
Re: Maeve Cane Corso DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
Had a nice sit down with Maeve in her kennel before I left tonight. She's very nervous and jumpy but a good spirited dog. I asked her over for a stroke by gently clapping my hands together, and over she came. Maeve does want to trust. That's half the battle over! I'm sure that in the near future she'll be in good form and ready to go.
Re: Maeve Cane Corso DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
Just had a lovely little meet with this beautiful girl. She is extremely scared and shut down at moment but even after 10 mins sitting with her in her bed she came up to me wanting to be stroked. I know this girl is going to be the sweetest, kindest dog and will learn to trust but she needs a very calm slow environment to bring her out of her shell.
There is a lot to take in with Kennel life. She will be loved by us all and hopefully come out of her shell because I’ve fallen in love already

A few pics of beautiful Maeve, after she had been for a walk with Georgie. She really is a gorgeous dog and takes treats ever so gently. Maeve is still very nervous but this is to be expected, there is a lot to take in for her at the moment. I am sure she will start to come out of her shell soon. I can already tell she is a very sweet & gentle dog
