Ronnie's Story: Ronnie was found abandoned and unclaimed within a Northern council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Ronnie is now neutered, had a dental, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Ronnie came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Ronnie arrived this afternoon. He is easy to handle and very receptive to his new environment. Happy in the paddock after a long days travel. Keen to access his food!

He is slightly underweight. First impression is how small he is around 17" to the shoulder. Slight frame. Met a noisy Patterdale the other side of the paddock fence with interest and curiosity.

Ronnie has had a busy week. He was neutered on Monday, travelling well and very receptive and bright in the vets.

He then has been the walking partner for several dogs who were being homed, as his dog skills are great.

Ronnie also went on the Charity walk with a new person who had never met him before and won a new friend.

AND at the end of the walk Corinne asked if she could foster Ronnie for the week so off he went ... WHAT A STAR

Ronnie went to our vets again today for a dental. You would not have thought he had problems as his teeth looked quite clean but our Vet examined them whilst he was being neutered and said he needed a dental.

Today our Vet removed 2 canines both same side and 2 incisors. She also X-rayed the other side of his mouth and concluded his teeth were sound.

In conclusion we don't think his dental wasn't related to age, more anxiety. Ronnie struggles to retain weight in kennels and can hold on to the kennel gate in his quest to gain attention and anchor his energy: Perhaps that is how he has damaged the teeth roots. Outside of the kennel he is happy, enjoying company and meeting everyone and every event with openness and joy.

I wonder if he isn't a blend of Parson's JRT and Staffie denoting his slender frame. His Staffie side wins, as he has a soft loving approach. His anxiety may relate to his zest for life outside the kennels, company, interest in squirrels and his aliveness to all that moves.
