Marge's Story: Marge was saved by an elderly man who found he couldn't manage her on her walks due to her strength. They did neuter and vaccinated her but sadly had to pass her into Rescue Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Marge is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Marge came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

It was a pleasure to meet Marge yesterday, lovely friendly girl,
she is strong and does pull, but still young and receptive to training

I had the pleasure of taking Marge out this morning with Lynne. We got a very excited welcome in the kennel and she was a bit grabby towards the leads and harness. We decided to take her to the large paddock on the collar and she proudly carried her harness all the way there.
Marge had a great run around and chased balls and toys. She then calmly allowed a fuss and stroke as she lay down.
We put her a new harness and collar on and then took her for a short walk.
Lovely girl who will hopefully soon learn to control her excitement to get out on a walk. thumbs.gif

Marge is starting to settle in kennels. She has been very hyped and frightened. The whole experience has been overwhelming for her causing her to overreact to the leads, sporadic grabbing and being sick. HOWEVER. We've been able to get her out on regular walks and today, after a difficult exit from her kennel and then another difficult exit from the paddock, she started to settle. We then walked up to the stream and around the common during which we both relaxed.
I'm 💯% sure that Marge will continue to progress and adjust to her new setting.

Marge is still very anxious in her new environment but is starting to adjust. Now she knows that the lead and harness means time out and about she offers me her head. So harness time is down to 2 mins rather than 10.
We use 3 leads as Marge insists on having one in her mouth when walking. It's a comfort thing as she will pick it up or mouth it anytime she's stressed.
She enjoys people and especially sitting around with the girls as they have their tea.
Marge really needs to be around people and is quite outgoing when out and about.
