King's Story: King was found abandoned and unclaimed within a Northern council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. King is now neutered, chipped, and undergo vaccinations. King came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

King's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Original referral information: Please save a life!!! We chose King: black/white ABD
This lovely boy was brought into kennels after being found roaming as a stray. Unfortunately his microchip was not registered so we do not know his name or exact date of birth. The kennels have named him King & aged him around only 1 year old. King is a friendly, boisterous, playful over grown pup! He knows how to “sit” on command but needs all aspects of training, luckily he is very food motivated. He may need a gentle reminder when it comes to housetraining. King does jump up a lot so will need a home without young children simply because he would knock smaller children over. King does pull on the lead so will need a strong, capable handler. King has shown some reactivity towards some other dogs in kennels. King is very sweet, his tail never stops wagging & he loves nothing more than a good fuss! The perfect home for King has got to be out there for him, there will never be a dull day with King around!

King came into RescueRemedies on the 5th July 24

Well yesterday I had an audience with the King. From the moment I met him I realised what a special dog he is. Friendly, welcoming and at the dawn of his life. He was easy to get leads on and enjoyed walking with Jilly. He paid no bother walking by dogs in their runs. He is just happy and interested in other dogs he sees. An open book ready to start a new chapter. I hope he is not long in kennels. He will make a fabulous addition to a family.

He is such a faboulous young Ambull.

Would you like to walk our lovely dogs too?

Introducing the King of Hearts

I had the greatest pleasure of meeting this wonderful dog yesterday. He was pleased as punch to meet me and be taken out and about. A very affectionate young chap, he likes to climb up you for a cuddle and a kiss.

He has a gorgeous face and stunning eyes.

I've never seen a dog cock his leg so high to pee. He was almost a contortionist, weeing into the sky. So sweet - but don't stand in the way!

He was a good boy on his walk; either walking next to me or just in front. He isn't much of a puller so that will save your arms! He was slightly anxious and did try to dart forward a couple of times when something spooked him. It is understandable for him to be a little unsure though, since he has only just come to us.

He seemed quite fascinated by any people or dogs we passed. He did strain to follow a dog we passed and had a little whimper when I wouldn't let him but was happy enough to continue on our walk.

King was keen to go into the big, expensive houses we walked past. He obviously has very grand aspirations - and why not! He deserves it and he is a king, after all.

I thought he was an absolute sweetheart. He could quite easily become the King of my heart , and maybe yours too?

Met King for the first time today and he was good in his kennel, a little jumpy but was easy enough to put the leads on. He was stronger than I anticipated as he was excited to see some dogs (not reactive) so we went to the paddock. I’m not sure he fully understands what to do with a ball yet but was definitely interested and enjoyed sniffing. He met Rose through the fence and they both wanted to play which was cute. He also loved a good scratch! Such a lovely boy

King was neutered and vaccinated today. He is a bit of a goof but all the Vet staff loved this big puppy. Easy to managed and easy to love.

I walked the wonderful King on Thursday. What a lovely, friendly, charming boy.
Easy to handle, interested in meeting other dogs, loves humans and human contact……. King didn’t pull on the lead and was a very easy walk. We went to the stream where he had a drink and paddle, but didn’t splash or play!
Fabulous boy and will be a great family pet.
