Taz (Tika) Siberian Husky DofB 30.11.23 Epsom
Current Status: Homed
Tika's Story: Tika's owner's health was failing and he was unable to walk him and didn't have a garden so his rehoming became very urgent. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Tika will be neutered by new owners under our Adoption contract at the right stage of maturity. Tika is chipped, and fully vaccinated. Tika came to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Tika's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: Tika's owner was phoning every Rescue and no one was able to help. We appreciated his predicament and arranged to take Tika in.

Re: Tika Siberian Husky DofB 30.11.23 Horley Temp Foster
We brought Tika home to help him decompress a little as kennel life may have seemed a little stressful.
Unfortunately it’s a temporary foster break as our work schedules won’t allow us to keep hold of him.
Tika is a typical puppy and loves to play, he’s also very eager to learn.
Within 24 hours Tika learnt the sit, down, fetch and leave commands.
Tika has had zero accidents in the house which for a 7 month old puppy is quite remarkable.
Tika is clearly active and loves to go for walks, he’s been amazing with passing dogs too - oh and he met some sheep!
Here are some photos of Tika enjoying the garden, relaxing on the sofa in different ways and also keenly assisting with the gardening.

It was so lovely to walk Tika today, he walks really nicely on the lead with the occasional puppy bounciness. We did the longer keepers cottage route and on the way back he led me to the river where he enjoyed a quick splash. Some bikes passed us quite quickly and he handled it very well. He seems interested, but not reactive, to other dogs.

Beautiful Tika having some play time on the weekend
A typical husky puppy, full of energy and lots of love to give.
We later passed him in the paddock with Venus and they both done the most adorable play bows to eachother. A real gem this boy is 🩵

Graham and Trudi fell for the wonderful Tika today and who can blame them.
An experienced Husky family so hopefully he will settle in quickly.
