Re: Munchkins DofB 2023 RRemedies Cattery
Munchkins has arrived with his litter sister Poppet. Its a strange one as Munchkins and poppet are of the same mother as Pippa and Pip who arrived last week but are of a older litter.
Munchkins is a bigger version of Pip but a litter less confident. Poppet is a little bigger than Pippa but a little less confident.
Munchkin and Poppet are booked in for vaccinations and neuter on Tuesday 7th May

Re: Munchkins DofB ? 4.23 RRemedies Centre
Munchkins is currently stretched out of his comfort zone. Munchkins has been living in a house with his siblings and not handled very much. So at around 1 year old he has few skills. On the 28th April he was due to come but fled and was hiding in a corner and it was decided just to bring his younger brother and sister (Pip and Pippa) and let Munchkin and his sister Poppet relax and come later in the week. On Friday the 3rd May Munchkin and his sister were transported and had the weekend to settle with their siblings and Mylo a chilled ginger tom.
Yesterday the 7th we managed to get Munchkins into a carrier and our Vet neutered, chipped and vaccinated him. We had a problem because he looks so much like Pip so really hoped we were transporting the right boy!
In Rescue you work a lot from your gut. It came to me over and over again Munchkins needed role models to show him the rewards of trust and to soak in the vibe of confidence from a wise adult or 2! It was going to be difficult to work with Munchkins when the siblings around him have instincts to shrink or dart. I therefore decided to move Munchkins being an older male in with the 4 queens opposite Minnie, Daisy, Trixie and Clementine. As I said at the beginning this is an enormous stretch for Munchkins. His comfort zone is to sit huddled watching the activity with his siblings huddled close by, huddled with him but fearful to engage. Now he is sitting huddled in the corner watching mature skilled cats go about their day and business. Munchkins has become a curious factor to them. We are watching carefully over the next week if Munchkin can rise slowly to this opportunity.

Munchkin having laid low for some time has begun moving around and mixing with the adult cats. He saw me walking passed and sustained eye contact and also remained whilst I got the camera out. Here he is with Clementine.

Munchkins having a little play yesterday. He’s slowly growing in confidence since he joined us and really needs a permanent family home to help him come out of his shell.

Munchkin was very interested in what my phone was and had to do some investigating . It’s so nice to see him exploring and showing his curious side.
