Lola's Story: Lola was found abandoned at the address of her breeder who happened to be handing her daughter, Clover, into a South Coast council pound the same day. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Lola will be neutered, chipped, and undergo vaccinations. Lola came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Clover's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Original referral information: 2.4.24: At the time of collecting Clover, he also informed me that Clover’s mother had been dumped on his doorstep that day with no explanation. This dog is Lola. I took her in as stray regardless, mostly as it was heavily implied she would be by the end of the day anyway.

He also informed me that Clover had shown no destructive behaviours at all, and had only had one accident on the bed in the time she had been with him.

Lola has shown to be a bit dominating of both Clover and the XL that was in the property. She has been witnessed to mount both dogs in a dominance display and during assessment very much had to have the attention on her. However, this is mostly posturing. The only dominance concern has been at feeding time. She must be separated to feed or she can get snappy.

In their time together at the kennels, they have been playful with each other, and Lola’s presence has seemingly calmed Clover who isn’t having issues this time around. Neither really seem to care much for other dogs that were introduced to them either.

Both, as typical for the breed, are very human friendly and love to run around playing with toys, balls etc.

Neither is command trained well. Clover reacts to her name (she was called Zola by the breeder, so will occasionally react to that name and not Clover, we’re working on training in Clover) and will sit and paw on occasion.

Lola knows no commands at time of test, including her own name, likely had a different name outside of the breeder home.

Lola came into RescueRemedies at the 6th June 24

I got to meet Lola today and she’s a lovely bouncy girl. Eager to get out her kennel but easy enough to put the leads on, quite excited when we first left but she soon settled and walked much nicer. She loved the paddock and chasing balls. Did not react to neighbouring dogs barking at her or when we walked past the cats.

I walked the gorgeous Lola yesterday alongside Clover. They were happy to see each other and walked beautifully.
Lola is very gentle and doesn't pull on the lead. She wasn't bothered by passers by, traffic or horses.
What a good girl love4.gif

Clover and Lola are such a sweet pair. They loved walking and then playing in the paddock.

Lola is such a lovely dog who lovesss chasing after the ball, has a lot of energy at the start of the walk but quickly calms and walks nicely on the lead as shown in the video.

Posting this on behalf of Elizabeth. I do think Lola is trying to encourage you to build a log cabin with her! :goodjob.gif: positivo1.gif

I took the wonderful Lola for a walk today, she’s a big favourite of mine, walks like a dream on the lead, ignores other dogs and loves to splash in the river. I walked her down past the roadworks today and she didn’t bat an eyelid walking past a small digger, men in high vis jackets pushing wheelbarrows. Such a lovely girl who deserves to find her furever home.
She had been splashing and playing in the stream today hence the slightly muddy face in the photos!
