Venus's Story: Venus was a welfare case found in a crate as a 6 month puppy with an adult female (Daisy) both in an emaciated state. They are both now fully recovered. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Venus is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Venus came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

I had the absolute pleasure and delight of meeting Venus yesterday and taking her for a little walk. She is a beauty, she has a soft caramel coat and an endearing little concerned frown and a very cute underbite. She is currently quite timid, but very friendly, so a gentle approach is all that was needed. It is obvious that Venus has very little experience of the world so frequent short walks around the rescue grounds are the order of the day to help build her confidence. She loved sniffing everything, absolutely no pull on the lead, although whether this will change as she gains confidence who knows, somehow I don't think so. This young girl is a total heart stealer :yes.gif: love4.gif

I didn’t get a chance to walk Venus but I did go in for a cuddle.

She was very nervous when I first went in. Let her have a sniff and a couple of treats and she warmed up quickly. She sat between my legs and loved all the cuddles and strokes! She is a very very sweet girl. Very similar to her friend Daisy who has recently been homed! Hopefully gets a home soon for this sweet girl

Got my hands on her today! What a lovely little pup she is! She has the cutest overbite ever!!

She’s is an affectionate little thing who walks great on a lead and is easy in the kennel just wants a cuddle 🥰

We have a little group walks with Heccy and Murray Mint! And her and Murray hit it off! Both wanting to play which was very cute to see!

Can’t want till the next walks! 🪐💗

Venus has come a long way in a short time and is so much more confident. She's eager to get out and loves playing in the paddock. She doesn't seem to understand what balls are for but loved running after a blue ring toy.

Venus is such a lovely girl to walk. Only my second time walking her but she welcomed me into her kennel, was a bit excited to see me but easy enough to harness. She doesn’t bark back at her kennel neighbours but instead quickens her pace to get away. We went to the paddock where she wasn’t 100% what to do with the ball but was excited when I threw it. Gave her some treats and she took them so gently - seems to know how to Sit too. Mainly loose leads whilst walking and she’s also super soft! Loved a bit of affection too but preferred sniffing.

Wenus Venus 🪐

Was lucky enough to pick her up for a sleepover yesterday! Very happy to see me yesterday morning which is always nice to see! She sat nicely while I put her harness on and we headed to the car!

We sat with the door open for about 5 mins as I didn’t want to force her into the car! She jumped in with her toy cat in the back and we set off for a steady drive home! She settled in the back after about 30mins and didn’t hear a peep out of her!

Made a pit stop at the gym and she was a very good girl. Nervous meeting people but enjoyed the cuddles and strokes she got!

Got home and had her bed and toys set out for her! She had a good sniff around inside and out and made herself at home on her bed 🥰 we had one accident in the house with the door open 🙄 but I suppose she was just weeing with a view lol My BF came home and we had one bark at him and then all wiggles after. Just said to him she’s nervous of new people and suggest movements and noises just due to not being socialised to it all. They exchanged a few treats and were firm friends after! No issues around feeding time either. Will let me take her bowl off her or move it if needed, and we are eating will sit near you and the take herself off to bed!

I’m lucky enough to have a friend who lives on the downs and has secure field on his land. We went up there in the evening for a very long walk. Around 7/8km and she was great! Had a play with my friend lurcher puppy which sadly was a bit faster than V lol Venus happily said hello to my friends who came too.

Venus is very turned into you if your walking her! Will look around at you and while off lead in the secure field wouldn’t go far from me and came back for reassurance. But she has a lovely time with her new furry friends!

No issues over night either! No mess or damage! Slept on her bed all night! The long walk I think helped lol
Went out this morning and had no issues with other dogs and people we met over the park! Lots of Compliments of her good looks 💗🪐

All in all Venus is a wonderful, calm and sweet puppy. She is very similar to one of the other foster people (Susie/Shelby) in looks and demeanour. Dog and people friendly. Hasn’t shown much interest in my cat either! She would make the perfect addition to someone’s sofa!! 💗🪐
