Duncan's Story: Duncan came in to care on welfare grounds. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Duncan now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Duncan came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick then into foster as an only pet whilst awaiting his new family.

You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Duncan arrived yesterday he s a smaller size Am. Bulldog with a very sweet nature. A little hand-shy so needs gentle approach and with a little reassurance he comes close and enjoys company. Looking forwards to see him relax more as he begins to enjoy good food, good company and walks to the village and in surrounding countryside

I walked Duncan for the first time today and I was blown away by him. He is just so beautiful. He walks very calmly and doesn’t pull. He wasn’t fazed by other dogs or horses. He sits and gives his paw for treats and also knows the lay down command. I can’t wait to walk him again. I can’t see him being in kennels for long

So this gorgeous boy has come to stay

He is a very sweet boy and very cuddly. He’s gonna get lots of love so he learns what being in a home and being loved is like.

He’s a bit tired out from all the excitement

This little munchkin is settling in well. He is extremely affectionate and a total cuddle bug. He likes to be near or on you!

He is a dream to walk and just trots along next to you. He has met some dogs in the village and is not phased at all, just friendly tail wags. He met some horses yesterday as we were walking and was good as gold, just sat next to me watching.

He is a food devil but he quite thin at the moment so I am getting him some high protein food and treats to get some weight on him.

He had a run around with a ball in the field yesterday and brings it back, you then throw another and he drops the one he has and goes after the other.

He is not keen on car journeys. He is quite clumsy on his legs and has not got the hang of leaning, so he can be a bit unsteady. He was sick yesterday in the car so I think little journeys and I’m going to get him a bed designed for the back seat so he feels a bit more secure in there.

He really is a gorgeous dog and I would be surprised if he is with me for long as he would make the perfect companion

He’s getting so much better in the car as today he has been out and about with me.

He came over to a friends tonight for dinner and was so gentle with the kids. They fell in love with him.

He made four new doggie friends today while out on his walk, many tail wags and happy jumping and playing. Wish I had got a photo.

Am loving having this cuddle bug to stay.

He made another friend today and has great fun jumping all over them I’m getting him a long line so when we are out walking the fields he can have a play

He is a counter surfer and will steal when you are not looking, so can’t keep food on the sides

He is so gentle and sweet, great with other dogs and loves people. You couldn’t ask for anything more

I am so in love with this boy he is so cuddly and affectionate.

He is so chilled and loves everyone he meets. He is brilliant with my friends kids and they absolutely love him. They spent hours playing with him yesterday in the garden.

He is great with other dogs, he just wants to play.

He is so much better in the car, but still is a bit like Bambi on ice when standing up and hasn’t quite got the hang of leaning yet.

He is very food focussed and is now at a good weight, he will surf counters but that is easy to manage. He doesn’t chew anything and I have now left him a few times and he just goes to sleep.

This boy is perfect and will make a fantastic companion. I am struggling not to be a failed foster
