Austin's Story: Austin was surrendered by his owner as he could no longer care for him. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her/his life. Austin is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinations. Austin came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Austin's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: Austin came to us as his owner' circumstances have changed.
Austin came into RescueRemedies on the 9th March 24

Lovely Austin is doing so well. He gives me the most beautiful wiggly bum hellos when I go to his kennel. He loves human contact.
He’s rather interested in dogs and furies but he’s doing well learning neutrality round dogs now. He’s food and praise motivated so he’s very easy to train.

I took Austin out for the first time on Wednesday and boy was I annoyed with myself for not making time to walk this wonderful boy soon. I received the most lovely and enthusiastic welcome from him but when asked he stood nicely for me to pop his harness and head collar on. He is still getting used to the head collar but was perfectly fine with me using it. Without out he can be a little pully on lead and so we are working on this and showing him that slowing down and having a good sniff is much more fun.
Once out and about Austin was the perfect gentleman and did everything asked of him he also likes to stop regularly and have some cuddles and if you tell him what a good boy he's being his face lights up .
Austin is a super friendly boy who I don't think has had much of an opportunity to experience life yet but nothing really fazes him and he is very happy to take his cue from his human. He really is a loving, friendly boy who would be a wonderful addition to a fun loving home

Austin Postin. I bloody love this boy (don’t tell Hector he’ll get jelly)
He is just so full of love and happiness. We have been walking together around 3 times a week now for a month or so, but he still greats me like a long lost friend.
Austin clearly hasn’t had the most life experience up till now so he remains very interested in new things such as other dogs, horses and wildlife but with each new encounter his excitement lessens and the commands of ‘me’ or ‘let’s go’ to break his focus become more reliable. I must stress his interest is very well intended he just wants to play and as he learns new skills and how to manage his puppy-ness I’m sure he’ll relish the opportunity to be more social.
Austin is just all love. I really hope he finds his family soon.

Austin is an absolute gentleman.
Charming, polite, cuddly and loving! The weather wasn’t very enjoyable today, so we found ourselves spending a lot of time in the poets hut. Austin demonstrated his ‘couch potato’ capabilities

This little (actually very big) boy is just such a delight as I’ve said before he really is a little ray of sunshine always with a wiggly bum. He’s such a fusspot. He loves a big fuss and just melts into a little pile of puppy at when he’s really into the cuddle. Walking him really dreamy. He just trots along minding his own business, doesn’t pull and traffic doesn’t faze him. He responds so well to his name and the commands of ‘me’ and ‘lets go’ now too. He is neutral round kennels dogs and is getting much easier when we see a civilian dog he is easily distracted with his treats and ‘let’s go’.
Here is the beautiful boy yesterday enjoying his walk and a rabbits ear when we got back.

I walked Austin for the first time on Thursday. What a smashing boy. He was quite excited to see me, realising he was going for a walk. No problem getting the harness on, and off we went. Austin was a fabulous walk, gentle, responsive and interested in his surroundings. Very easy and enjoyable.

Ok so yesterday I met and fell in love with Austin. I have heard that is how it goes with him, to know him is to love him. A wonderful Ambull with everything to look forward to. He is a happy, chill boy for one so young and in kennels going by yesterday's walk.
PS - I forgot the halti! However I think a social walk with Honey probably took his attention a bit as he ony pulled when leaving the kennel.

Would you like to walk our lovely dogs too?
