Willow came to us on the 4th January 2026 and it’s been a joy getting to know her.
It quickly became clear that her favourite things in the world are running and playing! Sadly, as we don’t have a garden or regular access to a secure off-lead space, we cannot give Willow the freedom and fun she needs to live her best life.
She would thrive in a home with a secure garden to run in and would love a doggy friend to play with.
We’re currently caring for Willow as her foster family while her perfect home is found.
We’ll be very sad to see her go, but we know that finding her the right home where she can run, play, and be truly happy is the most loving thing we can do for her.
Here are some things we have learned about Willow over the past few weeks:
Willow is:
A playful, energetic youngster – high-energy and full of enthusiasm, she would love to run and play all day (between naps)!
Affectionate and confident – loves cuddles and meeting people
Friendly towards other dogs – wants to greet and interact with dogs and would love a playful doggy friend
Intelligent and quick to learn – responds well to training and already beginning to understand cues such as sit, bed and leave
Making excellent progress with her toilet training
Food motivated – especially when chicken sausage is involved
Well-mannered with food – takes treats gently and politely and generally leaves human food alone
Enjoys long walks – loves sniffing, exploring, and stopping to sit and take in the world around her
Calm around traffic, roadworks, runners, bikes and everyday city street noise
Usually quiet – only vocal during high-energy play or when excited to greet other dogs
Good with handling and touch – cooperates putting on her coat and harness, happy to be lifted, tolerates toothbrushing
Sleeps through the night in her own bed and loves curling up to snooze by a warm radiator
Brave and friendly at the vets!
Willow’s ideal home:
Daily opportunities to enjoy off-lead running in a secure garden or enclosed field
Another playful dog or owners happy to actively play with her for a few hours a day
Owners willing to continue training a high-energy, young dog who is still learning
