We were so excited to see Jacqui today, it’s been a good few weeks since we saw her last and she was definitely just as excited to see us! She was jumping all over her kennel with excitement and it took a while to harness her up We eventually manage to distract her from having lots of cuddles and left her kennel. Jacqui walked straight over to the car but again was very hesitant to get in and we did have to both pick her up and put her in.

Jacqui still travels beautifully in the car, you wouldn’t even know she was there! We arrived at the secure field and she jumped straight out ready to have a look around! After having a good sniff, Jacqui quickly got the zoomies and was running around having the best time! When it was time to leave she did go and wait by the boot of the car but we did have to lift her in.

We weren’t ready to take Jacqui back to the kennels yet so we went for a nice long walk at Reigate hill. Jacqui was met by lots of off lead dogs and didn’t react to any of them. We were obviously cautious but she was so well behaved and didn’t seem to be fussed at all. After our walk we went and had something to eat at the cafe they had there where Jacqui enjoyed some sausages! Jacqui sat beautifully whilst we ate our lunch enjoying the heater and even slowly started to close her eyes we then headed back to the car where Jacqui hopped straight into the boot without any encouragement. It was so lovely to see her feel so comfortable to get in all by herself after all the times of having to lift her in.

We arrived back at the rescue where we gave Jacqui a good shower after getting all muddy, then took her back to her kennel. We stayed for a while giving her lots of cuddles. It’s so hard to leave her behind, we love her so much and would love to offer her forever home. If you’re looking for the perfect dog, slightly nervous in new situations but shows no aggression, then Jacqui is your girl. She would make the best companion

Merry Christmas from Jacqui

We dropped by the rescue this morning to give Jacqui a lovely walk and her Christmas present. We enjoyed lots of cuddles in the sunshine! We really hope 2026 is her year for her forever home

I got to meet this beautiful girl today, finally! She is such a gorgeous girl and my goodness I think she would thrive in a warm home environment. I don’t think there’s a bad bone in her body!

She was a little nervous when I first met her, but came over and rested against my legs whilst I gave her strokes and said hello. She has a way of truly making you fall in love with her. She took a little encouragement to get going, but she took treats sooo gently and was such a delight to walk. No pulling on the lead and had a good sniff and investigate in the paddock.

I can’t wait to spend more time with her and get to know her more but I think she’ll be snapped up (hopefully!) before I get a chance!

I really can’t believe that this gorgeous girl is still in the kennels and hasn’t been snapped up. But I was lucky enough to have yet another lovely walk with her yesterday, she is soooo loving once she trusts you. The cuddles and affection that you get from this gorgeous girl are out of this world.

I finally got another chance to walk Jacqui today as she is very popular with the walkers.
I arrived at her kennel and she greeted me happily and no issues entering.
She had a coat on which was no problem to take off and harness her.
I let Jacqui decide our route which led us to the staff having their lunch which she was so excited about and she got lots of cuddles from Anna.
We had a lovely walk ending with the paddock where she dazzled me with her beauty.
When I took her back she happily let me put her coat on and We had a few cuddles.

Very late update but Jacqui did so well on the Christmas Eve charity walk. She needed a bit of encouragement at the start, but luckily I was walking behind her without a dog so I was able to cheer her on and it seemed to work. The second half of the walk she relaxed a lot more, she began to sniff and enjoy the walk and you could tell she was gaining confidence, it was lovely to see. I was so proud of her for pushing through her initial fear. After the walk I went to see her in her kennel for some cuddles, because once she knows you she is just the cuddliest girl ever. I really hope she finds her forever home soon, she’s a sensitive nervous girl and really needs somewhere where she can build trust and confidence, with a bit of stability she really will flourish, she’s such an amazing dog!

We jumped at the chance to take Jacqui out of the kennels for a night this weekend. She hopped into the car very excited as she knew she was going somewhere fun! Whilst I stayed at work for a few hours, Gareth took her off and they both chilled in bed together whilst they waited for me to finish. They both came to collect me and as soon as I got in the car I could hear Jacqui’s tail excitedly waggling!

As usual, Jacqui was perfectly behaved. All she wanted was lots of cuddles and some good sleep and that’s exactly what she got. Jacqui slept right between us all night, moving from laying on me to laying on Gareth. Not once did she get up! She’s very well behaved when you’re eating, she will give you the puppy dog eyes but will sit and wait patiently. She’s clean over night and to be honest, had to be very persuaded to go out for a wee as she was very comfy in bed!

Jacqui is getting so much more confident with everything! She can still get nervous of situations and will cower down but you can tell she also wants to investigate. We took Jacqui to Tilgate park today where she was great around people and other dogs. Even with the odd person wanting to say hello she was a very good girl. Afterwards we popped into pets at home and she got lots of attention. She’s still a bit shy but also wants to say hello to people. In the right home and having seen more of the world, her confidence will shine through she is the perfect dog who deserves SO much love and has SO much love to give. She’s only a baby and hasn’t had the best start in life yet is so trusting of her people and deserves her forever home. In the mean time, we will enjoy taking her out as much as we can and showing her the world isn’t a scary place
