Very MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone from us all at Rescue Remedies.
Such a surge of good wishes at this time of year remembering the dogs and cats who were helped, helped and homed, and homed this year and many many more. Our arms have to be always welcoming, and life saving is why we are here. There are many, many models of Rescue and ours is the best! We never choose on the basis of economics or convenience...always out of need. Ever happy if a dog or cat gets a place elsewhere...we have always been that Rescue to take the ones who are on deathrow. Our relationship with our dog wardens and Animal welfare officers is mutually appreciative. In this day and age we can only help where we can, such is the INTENSE NEED in 2025 its beyond doable.
We are fighting for funds to support the animals we do, so please do set up a Standing Order as TOGETHER WE CAN. We have been overwhelmed by those who continue to contribute monthly. Some have raised the amount out of love. Others are new to our 'crowd funding' of Standing orders.
Merry Christmas to the HOMERS: our FUNDRAISERS: our ADMINISTRATORS: our OPERATATIONAL LEADS: our FOSTERERS: our WALKERS AND CUDDLERS and EVERYONE WHO CARES.
Our special special thank you to our POUNDPULLER friends; to the FAMILIES who took our dogs and cats in out off the Streets and sort us out to offer them safety...Our DOG WARDENS/ ANIMAL WELFARE OFFICERS who carry the official role and intense burden.
This year we haven't been able to help as many as knocked on our door, their knocks were deafening, we could only help those we could. I know of many who we just couldn't help... many many we saved but given vital "safe" time, others came forwards and we applauded.
Help us to help....
9.30 last night I received a call from another Rescue Manager...is there anyway we have any space to save 2 lives. A London dog warden has had 3 come in this week her 4 kennels are full and she has had to put one in a crate overnight...she will deliver tomorrow... 6.45am I got up this morning and searched the kennels and confirmed we had 2 spaces and within moments the reply came back YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mary and Carol come today.

Re: Rescue Remedies Diary Oct 25 - Dec 25
Happy January Happy 2026 we move forwards with courage, determination and enthusiasm.
Lets recapture adding on the final 2 making it 24 special, special homings for the 2025...with total awareness EVERY dog's homing is a miracle to us all.
Lenny Spaniel
On the face of it Lenny was like the many, many Spaniels we all know: Kind, friendly and a joy to have around. Lenny however lost his home due to his resource guarding which traits, when present are instinctual and certainly can't be trained out. Lenny lost 2 other homes with ourselves with the same feature surfacing in the home. We were able to learn the details and features which needed respect and containment together with his integral needs which lessened this trait's impact. The family who adopted him were so accommodating and played down his manifest behaviours. Wonderful family, who as a consequence received Wonderful Lenny into their lives emphasising his many many qualities. Hurrah!!
Chanel
Last Diary write up was a surprize intake for Christmas Day...This write up is a surprize Homing for New Year EVE! We have a motto in our Rescue there is hope for all our dogs and many aren't aware how many times the Homing Team are raising certain dogs with potential families throughout the course of conversations. Other times a particular Homing Questionnaire comes in and it rings true, yes its exactly what we have been looking for ..rare as hens teeth... but at last we smile!!!!!!!!! Chanel's homing came out of several conversations and then a merging of minds and sharing in details of knowing her, discussed in depth, and received and YES!!!!!!! We were fishing on the river bank and suddenly we have landed a WHALE! Chanel is going to be safe and those around her kept safe.
