Unbelievably, it is Skyla’s 5th gotcha day, how did that happen?! Skyla is doing well, still happy and goofy. Unfortunately, it is getting harder to treat her recurrent wee infections due to antibiotic resistance we are running out of antibiotics that we can give her. However, there are still a couple that work at the moment. Our vet is a great fan of Skyla; she says she is a different kind of dog, especially given her age. She is strong and resilient.

Bearing in mind Skyla’s dog reactivity, she shocked us this morning when we bumped into our neighbour and his lovely cockerpoo whilst out for a walk. Skyla stood quietly 4 feet away and did not bark! There was however massive side eye and she was looking down her nose at him the whole time

I intend to be back on this forum in December to celebrate Skyla’s 15th birthday!

Well, she did it, Skyla is 15 years old today! . Our lovely lady is doing well, still doing zoomies, jumping a foot in the air when food is being served and loving her sniffy walks. She will still try and get in any postie or builder’s van and loves all humans. I can also report that she appears to be mellowing slightly and will tolerate dogs in her sight without shouting at them
Thanks to the efforts of Lynne and other staff, Skyla was given a lifeline and then we took over and she seems to continue to be happy. Thank you Rescue Remedies, you do excellent work.
