Cressida's Story: Cressida came into care on welfare grounds. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Cressida is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Cressida is in our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £300 (£500 for a pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Cressida's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

I walked Cressida today for the first time and what a great girl she is. She’s really easy to harness and get out of her kennel. She’s walked lovely on the lead, can be slightly strong. She did get a bit bouncy and grab the leads a little but was easily distracted! Cressida is a lovely girl and hopefully won’t have to wait too long for her forever home 💕

Had a fabulous, leisurely walk with Cressida yesterday and what a poppet she is love4.gif . Cressida was spayed last week and I don't know if that was a feature of our very gentle pace, but I suspect this girl just likes to take her time and take pleasure in all that is around her :yes.gif: Certainly she sniffs every blade of grass, interesting stone and tree root as if she were seeing or smelling them for the very first time, and she appeared to look at the scenery around her with a sense of wonder that was incredibly endearing. She was also a very good girl! We met several dogs on our walk and Cressida and I stood aside each time to let them pass and she waited patiently with me, at one point sitting on my foot, but I didn't mind love4.gif as we waited for them to pass. She was interested to see them walk away, quietly watching the direction they went, and I do feel she might enjoy social walks very much. I can't wait to walk her again, she exudes a very calming influence and it was a lovely start to my day angel13.gif]

I walked Cressida for the first time yesterday and she's a lovely gentle girl. She was very patient having a 'photo shoot' before we set off. She certainly likes a 'sniffy' walk! She was very content to just mooch around the grounds and the woods slowly, taking in all the interesting smells and exploring her surroundings. It was only when heading back to kennels that she picked up the pace slightly, though she was still on slack leads - never pulling. She showed no reactivity to other dogs that were nearby and was happy to receive lots of fuss and attention from other walkers as we returned.

I finally had the opportunity to walk Cressida and what a sweetheart she is.
We had a bit of a game getting the harness on as she kept running off with it but when she realised harness equals walk she quickly cooperated.
Cressida is a joy to walk and such a funny character.
We had some rolling then some cuddles aswell as lots of sniffing and tail wagging.
This girl wont be with us long she has such a lovely temperament as well as being totally gorgeous.

My first walk with Cressida today. A lovely, fun, hip wiggling dog she is. She was keen to have a quick rag on the leads before giving in and sat politely waiting for a sneaky treat. We had a few more ragging episodes on starting our walk but soon settled in to sniffing and enjoying herself. We walked with Lenny Spaniel and it helped with him taking the lead as it seemed Cressida preferred walking behind. She is a lovely staffie that will melt your heart. love4.gif
