Darling little Enya

Always the happiest of welcomes. Such a sweetie. I'm honestly confused as to why she's not found her home yet as she's a truly wonderful little girl. This time we had a walk around the grounds and a happy play in the paddock.

Enya and I enjoyed a social walk with Magic and Diane and then went to the shady woodland paddock for a play and a cuddle as it was quite a warm day. Enya is brilliant at playing by herself with an old tennis ball, or piece of tennis ball, tossing it in the air and rolling on her back with it between her paws or under her head, then she gives herself a shake off and comes across to you for a fuss and a cuddle. I honestly think to meet Enya is to love her, she has such a sweet nature. She can get very enthusiastic at attempting to offer you affection, so be prepared with a hand off and a 'gently now' instruction, which she complies with at once, she then sits at your feet and gazes adoringly up at you :smiley-love014.gif: she didn't want to go back to her room yesterday, so when we left the woodland paddock she took me to the big paddock and then for a stroll around the grounds, when we'd been out nearly 2 hours she agreed that we could head back in and settled happily with some chicken and a chew. She is going to fill some lucky family's life with joy and love for sure xxx

I walked gorgeous Enya last week and she was fabulous as ever. She was snoozing away on her bed, not a care in the world when I went in to see her. They she greeted me with such love and the saggiest of tails. We poodled off for our walk and she was the best behaved girl as always. I have a lot of love for this girl, as does everyone who knows her!

Enya’s foster break 🩷

Day one.
My mum and I had a few days free this weekend and early into next week. So Enya has come to stay with us for a few nights - she deserves some time away from the Kennels. Enya is such a special dog and we are so excited to be spending some quality time with her.

When we came to pick Enya up, she was patiently waiting in the paddock for us. Boy oh boy was she happy to see my mum! 😃 She saddled her up and led her round to the car so we could head off on Enya’s holiday. Enya is absolutely fantastic in the car, she really enjoys a car ride and was ever so well behaved. She was leant up against my mum the whole time, watching the world go by out of the window.

When we got home, Enya leaped out of the car, her feet hit the floor and her little bum and tail was wagging full speed. We went indoors and she ran straight up to my dad to say hello and introduce herself. Enya is such a friendly dog, she greets everyone she meets as if they are her best friend. We then showed Enya the garden, she was very happy running around and playing with all of her toys 🤗 She then posed for a few pictures so we could tell all of her RR family that she was having a well deserved foster break!

We then headed off for a nice walk. She walks so well, no pulling, no reaction to cars/traffic and no reaction to other dogs. Yes, she is a little interested in other dogs but there is nothing wrong with that!

We then returned home to chill for the rest of the evening. Enya was still quite excited, lots of things to see, hear and smell that she hasn’t experienced for a long time! She partially likes watching the TV, especially when there was another dog on there! We then had some dinner and Enya is great around food, she just laid next to the dinner table and left us to eat - absolutely no issues at all.

After another walk and some more playing in the garden, we settled down for the evening. Enya is a very cuddly and affectionate dog, she loves to be with you at all times. She is a true lap dog and loves to snuggle up with you on the sofa. This is all new to her, so she needs time to settle in and relax fully. We are giving her lots and lots of love and attention and look forward to seeing her relax even more as the day goes on ♥️

Enya’s foster break 🩷

Day two.

Well I must start off by saying how amazing little Enya is during the night. I thought she may of been a bit unsettled as she was in a new environment, so I decided to sleep downstairs with her and have a girly sleepover! She was not unsettled at all, she happily laid with me on the sofa, watched the TV and drifted in and out of sleep. Before the lights went off, I told Enya to go outside for a wee and she went straight to the back door, went into the garden, went to the toilet and then ran straight back in and plonked herself on the sofa all nice and cosy. During the night, she didn’t make a peep! When I woke up, I found her lying on her bed lovely and peacefully.

Enya then had her breakfast, she didn’t eat all of it but went back to it thoughout the morning. Once we had allowed time for her breakfast to go down, we headed off out for our first walk of the day. Once again, this gorgeous girl was perfect on her walk. We went through the fields and she was taking everything in. She is sooo beautifully behaved, no pulling, no backing up - nothing! She really enjoyed her walk and even lead us back to our front door on the way home! Such a clever girl! 😃

One thing to say about Enya is, she greets you like you have been gone for hours. When we got back, she was so excited to get back indoors and say hello to my dad! Her little bum and tail was wagging at full speed! I have met a lot of dogs in my time & I can hand on my heart say, she is one of, if not the most friendliest of dogs I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Everything is so exciting to her and it’s absolutely adorable.

We then let her chill for a few hours, she was tired from her walk so made the most of laying in the garden, on her bed, on the sofa, on me, on my mum and on my dad! 😂 Periodically getting up to give us all a kiss and a cuddle ♥️ She also had a few nice treats and played with her new rope toy - she was very pleased with this!

We then decided to take Enya on another walk into town so we could treat her to a Puppachino! Why not ay! She is on her holidays! 🤗 Enya absolutely LOVED her Puppachino! She licked it all up and was left with a cream moustache afterwards! 😂 By that point, I didn’t think Enya could get any cuter but I was wrong! 😍

Back we headed home and the plan for the rest of the day was to chill and make the most of a lazy Sunday. I went upstairs to watch TV and Enya followed me up, laid next to me and fell asleep. We enjoyed a couple of hours of just relaxing together and it was wonderful.

And just like that, another great day with Enya. She is an absolute joy to be with and the most perfect house guest. She lights up the room whenever she is in it and I am so glad she is having this well deserved break 🩷

Enya’s foster break 🩷

A few things to know about Enya

Walking
Enya is fantastic to walk. She just trots along, has a sniff, takes everything in and occasionally looks back to check your still there 😃 So far we haven’t seen any reaction to other dogs, traffic, bikes or loud noises in the street. Enya has lots of energy and definitely values her exercise & getting out in the fresh air.

In the car
Enya is great in the car, in fact I think she really enjoys it. We have been sitting her in the back seat with either myself or my mum with her. She just leans up against you and enjoys the ride! I can see from her previous posts that other volunteers have commented on how she likes to go in the car too.

Around food
Enya is great when you are eating or have food with you. She shows little to know interest and doesn’t try to jump up or get at your food. When we have been eating she has either laid on the floor next to us or gone and laid on the sofa/her bed. Enya hasn’t been eating all of her meals in one go, probably because this foster break has all been very new to her. She has gone back to it a few times and in the end finishes it all. She loves a Puppachino, a doggy ice cream & a chickens foot.

In the house
Enya is amazing in the house. She is fully house trained and we have not had any accidents. When you ask her to go out for a wee she does and when you say “let’s go for a walk!” she heads straight to the front door and pushes her little nose up against it. She is extremely cuddly and LOVES to lay with you on the sofa.

Separation
One thing we have noticed about sweet little Enya is that she likes to be with you most of the time. This is because she is just such a friendly loving girl but if we leave the room, she is up straight away to follow us. It would be good for Enya to learn with time that when you leave, you will always come back to her. I am sure with just a little bit of training she would get the hang of this straight away.

Over night
Enya is great during the night - you barely hear a peep out of her and in the morning she is so very happy to see you! 😃 we have been sleeping downstairs with her because we haven’t wanted her to feel unsettled on this foster break. Again, I imagine if you went up to bed without her she would want to follow to be with you. As mentioned above, with a little bit of training I am positive she would learn to be happy by herself for a while ♥️

Day 3
Enya had another lovely day today filled with long walks, playing, a doggy ice cream and a snuffle mat. She has enjoyed relaxing on the sofa and also spent 20 minutes trying to catch a fly 😂 She continues to show her amazing personality as the days go on, she truly is so so special. Enya is also so funny, we have enjoyed the laughs she has given us all weekend when she has the zoomies or is jumping on your lap to give you a big kiss and cuddle. ♥️
