I’ve had the pleasure of walking Maxine twice this week. On Wednesday we went with Spencer, another terrier, non reactive to dogs. Maxine was fine, took little notice of him and carried on walking, following him. We’ve had several huge dogs go past and although she’s pulled a bit towards them, with a bit of guidance, there was no barking or other reaction from her.

Today I walked her on my own. What a good little dog she is. She is a busy terrier on her walk, watching, listening and sniffing. She sets a good pace and only occasionally pulls on the leads. She loved going for a paddle in the stream. Maxine responds well to ‘this way’ ‘sit’ ‘wait’ and takes treats nicely. I get the sense, as with most terriers, that she doesn’t want to be fussed over a lot or surprised, but she watches back to check in and is a great walking companion, watching her pace in the videos. After the walk, we went to the bench under the tree but there was way too much going on for her to just sit there 0002.gif]
I got a few videos, but no photos this time.

I met and walked the lovely Maxine today and what an absolute treasure she is.
She was easy to get ready and raring to go.

We went to the woods which were very quiet today we only passed one other person with a dog and she was good as gold.
Maxine does love to sniff and investigate which was very cute to watch, she also checks in regularly with her walker.

There was no pulling at all throughout the whole of the walk.
We came back via the stiles which she slipped herself under rather than over.
Maxine was an absolute joy and I look forward to seeing her again until she gets her forever home.

Last Saturday was my second outing with Maxine, and she continues to be an absolute pleasure. Clipping my leads onto both her harness and collar is straightforward, and she walks calmly past other kennels with little to no reaction.

Dog walkers Hannah and Jamie stopped by to say hello and Maxine greeted them in a friendly manner.

Maxine can be a little excitable at first, however that energy is quickly channeled once she has a tennis ball. Maxine loves a game of fetch in the paddock and is good at bringing the ball back. During a short chat with Diane, Maxine amused herself by taking her tennis ball to the water pool— she seemed perfectly content splashing and playing there on her own.

We later went for a walk through the woods and came across a horse rider. Maxine remained calm and well-behaved throughout, which was lovely to see.

All in all, Maxine is a lovely little dog — playful, sociable, and a joy to walk Kiss of love.gif
