He’s come out of his soft furry shell and he’s a joy to be with. He loooooves going for walks. He doesn’t need to have long walks - he gets tired especially when it’s hot - but he loves being out and about. And meeting people. He does attract a lot of attention, as he’s such a beautiful dog, and he has met quite a lot of new people on our walks. He makes people smile. We take him on 3 short walks every day. He walks really well and he’s very chilled.
Sleeping-wise, he sometimes sleeps in his bed in our room and some other times he prefers sleeping in his bed in the living room. He’s clean in the house and is very respectful of property.
During the day, he is very chilled and likes being with us while we’re working. He only needs 5 minutes of playtime here and there.
He has found his voice, too and sometimes, when he’s excited to see you (especially in the morning) he makes weird noises, like Chewbacca in Star Wars.
He doesn’t really bark. And deliveries don’t bother him either. Our garden backs onto a park which sees a lot of dog footfall, but he doesn’t mind dogs barking around him, as long as the perimeter is safe, he’s happy.He’s a bit of a picky eater and we’re still trying to work out a good eating routine for him. But we’re getting there.
We can’t believe he hasn’t been snapped up yet, but in the meantime, we’re enjoying his company.

And he keeps turning heads wherever we are. Such an ambassador for his breed. Sorry, lots of pictures, but he's so handsome we couldn't resist

He's definitely feeling cooler already. Akitas only go through this process twice a year apparently, once in spring for the summer coat and once in autumn for the winter coat.
