Prince's Story: Prince was losing his life with the family contacting 2 different Vets to try and put him to sleep. A vet contacted us if we could save his life and collected him after work and brought him all the way to us at 10pm at night to save him. Apparently Prince is can be reactive to dogs. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Prince is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Prince came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Prince's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Prince came in last night. He had supper and slept.
He had a lovely walk in the early morning then went into our vets and was neutered. He was made a great fuss of, and due to timing he stayed overnight and I am collecting tomorrow morning.
Really lovely boy. Great with people. Alert to other dogs but soon settles.

I met Prince yesterday when he delicately took some tiny pieces of chicken through his pen door. He is so sweet - seems quite small and oh so friendly. He was hopping about with joy - lovely little chap.

Prince is soooo adorable! I was lucky to walk this little chap yesterday, as he’s very popular. He was very keen to get going, but soon settled into a chilled walk, full of sniffs and alert to his surroundings. He took it all in, including lorries, bikes, and a dog that randomly started barking at him from the other side of the road. He was happy to move on and didn’t bark once – I was super proud of him.
If you’re looking for a cute dinky terrier, well Prince might just be the dog you’re looking for!

I have to confess to wanting to get a walk in with Prince. He was very happy to see me in the kennel. My fingers were a bit slippery with treats and he had no issue with me trying to hold onto his collar and then his harness. He was just very excited. We met Spencer and Michelle as we knew Spencer wouldn’t be bothered by him and would ignore him. Prince was barking lots and pulling but calmed after 10 minutes and walked very nicely. We kept a bit of a distance and we walked in front. He’s very good at ‘wait’ and stops when you do. He’s was also picking up on ‘look at me’. He has his nose to the ground and is super busy on a walk but also listens too. He was so sweet when he plonked himself down on my foot.
A calm reassuring voice and gentle contact seemed to settle him and I just felt he really needed to be told that he was a good boy. He was honestly so very sweet. I’m sure he won’t be with us long.-
