Dash has popped over for a bit of gardening duty. Initially nervous on the journey, but settled well. Quickly adjusted to the garden and flat, and has spent time eating and laying about. He is no issue indoors and is probably the dog that's settled down most readily amongst those that have visited. We're just having some downtime before round 2.
All in all Dash was a great guest and very worthy of a home. He obviously knows homelife and how to behave. I found that he carries a few nerves but overcomes them quickly. He ate well and was quite happy amusing himself or just lying around while I was working. I don't know Dash that well but he was very friendly and receptive. We could have quite happily sat on the sofa all afternoon, but unfortunately I was time constrained. I wouldn't hesitate taking him again if the opportunity presented itself.Dash Lurcher DofB 6.6.21 Em Boarding

Oh Dash, you made me laugh today. We had good fun, didn’t we!
Then we played ball until you’d had your fill and were ready for a little rest. The king
of the castle!
And a such a handsome boy.
And you still had just a little energy for a little stroll and a sniff before we headed back for a rest.
See you again soon buddy, if you’ve not been snapped up. You’ll be such a super member of any household.
You knew what you wanted today so we found a paddock and you showed me your youthful zoomies. Then we played ball until you’d had your fill and were ready for a little rest. The king

Dash proved an absolute star helping me introduce a new walker to the routines. He was friendly, happy and very well behaved, I must admit to being rather smitten by this long legged beauty

Dash came to stay with us for the day and overnight and what a lovely boy he is! I can’t believe how well he adapted and how responsive he is. I’ll start from the beginning:
I went to collect Dash this morning and took my small neutered male dog to the kennels to meet Dash. I took Dash out to the paddock alone first, and he was happy with me clipping his harness on and taking him out, even though he’d never met me before! He greeted me like a long lost friend.
We walked out to the paddocks and he ignored all the barking and shouting from other dogs - he just wasn’t bothered by it at all. Lynne then took the reins whilst I got Obi (my dog) out of the car. They walked parallel beautifully and had a few close up sniffs with no issues at all. We decided it was worth trying an overnight stay, so I then got Dash into the car. He was resistant to getting in the boot initially but I think it was nerves as he was good as gold the whole journey and sat up a few times to see where we were before quietly lying down again and waiting for arrival (we were an hour in the car). Obi was on the back seat and Dash was in the boot and neither of them minded the other one being there!
When we arrived home, the dogs had a nice play together in the garden. Dash is very puppy like when he plays! We also have a resident cat and he did not like Dash at all, so we kept them apart for his stay, but this was no fault of Dash’s! Dash enjoyed doing zoomies and playing with some toys in the garden - he barked at a few noises but was fine with the neighbours pottering around in the gardens either side of us! He was clean in the house the entire stay and knows to toilet in the garden. I did have to put Obi inside a few times just because Dash would have played and played and played! So they just needed a break every now and then. Dash responds really well to treats and he sits, lies down, and comes when you call.
In the afternoon, I took him out to the local park. We live in Tooting, London, so it is a busy place! He walked past dogs, bicycles, scooters and children with no issue at all and he doesn’t pull on the lead. He’s a very easy dog to walk! He did see a cat on our walk which he was very interested in and lunged towards it, but he forgot about it soon enough and when it was out of sight, he was able to carry on as usual. His absolute favourite thing is to roll on the grass! He just adores it - both in the garden and out in the park.
In the home, Dash was confident going up and down the stairs and settled well in the spare bedroom at bedtime. I slept with him in there on the bed and he was just snoozing away! He gives very gentle licks and is happy to see people.
I will be taking him out again in the morning before dropping him back, so I will do another post about our morning walk!

We had another lovely walk together this morning in Tooting! Dash is happy pottering around and sniffing on his walks and despite his long legs, really adjusts to your pace! He was much happier getting in the car this time and again settled and lay down in the boot the whole way.
It’s also worth noting that he slept the whole night through on the bed with me and didn’t stir!!
It is such a shame that my cat took a dislike to him because he is just an amazing dog and would make a perfect companion for someone. He really is a lovely dog.
