Current Status: Homed
Albus & Dexter's Story: Albus and his litter brother & Dexter were found stray, gravitating to a person's back garden in October with no intention to leave or without chips or response to enquiries. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place. Albus & Dexter are neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Albus & Dexter are in Gatwick Cattery whilst awaiting their new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our cats, please complete our Cat Homing Questionnaire. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new cat within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay cats: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our cats need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our cats back-up for life.
Albus & Dexter's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our cats, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: In late autumn North London: 2 male cats appeared in a garden, they would come and go until eventually they wouldn't leave and found comfort in the garden. The lady started to feed them and asked neighbours around, they had said they've been around for a little while and no one knows who owns them.
They were a little nervous but managed to get them scanned and no microchip was found , neither were they neutered.
With help from a mutual friend we managed to get them neutered and microchipped before going back to the feeder.
The vets believe they're around 18months old now and could be related, they have also come a long way in the few months they have been with the feeder, they're both still a little nervous but a lot more friendlier than before. Gx
Albus and Dexter came into RescueRemedies on the 12th March 25

How wonderful it is to link in and help people who find stray cats and put themselves out to help, rather than ignore. We love to welcome in cats who were on hard-times and watch them blossom.
Albus came to us this week. The cat helpers/ rescuers Gemma and Penney are quite a team in helping the finders and getting them neutered and chipped and then transporting them across London to us.
Albus is shy but handler-able. He was Vaccinated and found to have a tapeworm. Our Vets treated wormed and flea treated him and Dexter stating tapeworms are quite common in stray cats as they live on catching wild life mice and birds plus. Albus also had a FIV test in case he had been exposed or inherited from his parents. They were both was negative. Albus's teeth are fine but Dexter has pronounced gingivitis which the Vet wants to watch over the coming months.
Albus and Dexter are now settling in our Cattery and enjoying 'room service' and radiator warmth overnight!

Albus loved his treats. He is a little shy but I'm sure that will change with time. What beautiful eyes!

Albus is such a sweet boy! A bit timid, mostly due to the change of environment he's been through recently
but thankfully he can count on his brother to help him coming out of his shell one paw step at the time.

Manon:
An absolute babe....there's no other way to describe Dexter! Affectionate, very playful and curious about everything especially bags
He's also a loving and precious emotional support to his brother Albus who came with him

This pair are just gorgeous!
Dexter is a great big softie and Albus is coming out of his shell now and also showing what a big baby he is
Albus is a big panther of a cat whereas Dexter is smaller, both are gentle and strokeable, and I've experienced no hissing/scratching from either. They do enjoy a treat and would pretty much do anything to get another Dreamie!

Albus and Dexter went to our Vets again a few days ago. The Vet team stated they were easier to handle. Both had their 2nd vaccinations.
Dexter who had gingivitis on his teeth still has this. 2 Vets discussed his needs. We agreed to give him more time and to honour a dental in 6 months at our Vets after a review. His teeth are fine but the enlarged gums can put him at higher risk of tooth decay. He has no pain and is eating well.
This is a devoted pair and will be very happy homed as a pair in fact it would be wrong to consider splitting them up.
