Cordelia's Story: Cordelia was found abandoned and unclaimed within a council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Cordelia is now neutered, chipped, and undergo vaccinations. Cordelia came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Cordelia's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: Cordelia ran out of time in the pound and we responded to an urgent plea to save her.
Cordelia came into RescueRemedies on the 21st February 25

Re: Cordelia Husky DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
Lynne approached myself and Jack on Saturday morning to inform us of the new arrival Cordelia
Having a Husky myself at home I can never resist getting to know another snow dog
Where do I start ?
Cordelia is just the sweetest and easiest girl!
She likes to chat to you when you go to see her and does the typical husky/akita howl
it’s nothing but a bit of chatter.
She had her harness on already but no trouble at all to clip her leads on and exit the kennel. We decided to go for a walk with Leeanne and Sandos and both dogs behaved impeccably, completely content in each others company.
Cordelia is a great little walker, a nice pace on her but we didn’t find her strong in the slightest.
She didn’t react to a single dog we passed
In any way, no attempt to even pull towards them to say hello.
At the moment she’s not overly fussed on treats but this may change and isn’t unusual for the breed,
they can be very fussy eaters. Next time we walk I will ensure to carry a bit of cheese as this tends to be their kryptonite
We were unsure if Cordelia is a bit hard of hearing? or if it simply because she’s new in and was focused solely on her walk but she didn’t seem to react to a single call of her name, whistle, or any other noise when we were out. We will see how this goes as she settles in at RR
Overall Cordelia is just a lovely girl who is easy in every way, I’m sure she will soon have many friends and walkers at the rescue but equally shouldn’t be with us too long

Gorgeous new girl Cordelia on behalf of Katie
Re: Cordelia Husky DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
My first walk with Cordelia today. Lovely, friendly dog. It was a bit a bit of a challenge to get her harnessed, even with a few distraction approaches but when all done, she is a lovely girl. Great to walk and loves taking in all her surroundings. We passed a few other dogs being walked and she paid no attention to at all. I’m sure she’ll be a popular dog to walk by all our volunteers

Another lovely walk with Cordelia today. She is such a lovely dog and gets a lot of compliments as to how pretty she is by people out and about. She is so easy to walk and doesn’t pull at all. She would fit in so well to a loving home. I have my fingers crossed for her
Re: Cordelia Husky DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
Cordelia joined me for an induction walk with a new walker yesterday and showed what a perfect lady she is
easy to harness (even though she was obviously very keen to get out) and then a perfect partner for our walk, keeping a taut lead but not pulling, passing every dog we met with perfect manners and generally being a delight. She is a beautiful girl, and we both agreed that with the warmer weather showing a brief appearance she might enjoy a brush to get rid of some of those fluffy bits

Cordelia is an absolutely stunning girl. She was spot on start to finish and is just so beautiful! We went on a walk with Katy and Jessie and the girlies were lovely together and didn’t seem to mind each other at all.
