Fabulous photos Anne, having met Wendy out and about can confirm she is really sweet and even more beautiful than the photos show!!

My first walk with Wendy and she is so gorgeous. Big waggy welcome to her kennel and with a bit of persuading, managed to harness her up. She is a strong one and had that shown to me a few times but otherwise a lovely dog to walk. We passed a few other dogs out for their walks and Wendy did get a bit grabby but as previously mentioned, we just kept walking and she soon calmed. I’ll look forward to walking Wendy again

Such a lovely walk today with Wendy, she’s a lovely dog, full of fun and zest for life. She is easy to walk but is strong and will sometimes try to go say hello to other dogs so you have to be ready to show her the direction you want to go. She happily shows off her sit for a treat and will show her furever family just how wonderful she is when the come find her!

I took Wendy out for a fun, muddy walk yesterday. She loves to be at the front of the group, sniffs and away and generally finds life very exciting. She’s v sweet, knows how to sit and do paw. She is a strong girl and does need some lead training to stop pulling (much better on her own) but all in all she’s a lovely, young dog who just needs to find her furever home.

I walked the lovely Wendy again today. She was so happy to see me, and to be going for a walk. She is a total poppet, very friendly, very interested in her surroundings. We walked with another dog which worked well, and although they kept swapping the lead, I think Wendy preferred to be in front. She does pull at times, but quite manageable for most people. Delightful girl

Beautiful Wendy. She is always the first dog I walk when I come in, seeing her lovely cheeky face at the window of her Kennel means I can't go anywhere until we've had a walk together!
Yesterday, she greeted me with a squeaky Christmas cracker toy that was squeaked while I harnessed her up. She is keen to get going, but once we are on a roll she settles down. If she ever gets a bit over-excited, calling her name and scattering a few treats down for her to sniff out brings her right back to a calm space! She has so much potential for training, is very food motivated and intelligent.

I love this girl so much, if I could take her home, I would do it in a heartbeat! Wendy can get a bit excited with having her gear put on, but was an absolute superstar today, with the helping hand of some liver paste and let me pop her leashes on quickly and without a fuss.
Today we walked with Domino, Austin and Xena, of course, Wendy had to be at the front as she likes to lead the way. She was excited to get going at first but settled into a lovely long walk with her pals, even walking side by side with them. When other dogs and people pass by, she knows to wait nicely, and sit/lay down to let them pass.
As you would expect with an aspiring hippo, Wendy found the only muddy puddle in the County and quickly went to town on cooling herself (and me!) off. Not a problem! This gave us an opportunity to spend more time together when we got back, as I needed to shower her off. Wendy was excellent, I popped some liver paste on the wall of the bathroom for her to concentrate on while I gave her a thorough rinse off. She handled this all really well.
Our next task was drying her, she took this like a seasoned professional and let me towel her off properly in her kennel room: stopping occasionally to give me some cuddles and have a play!
Well done Wendy!

I've not walked at the Rescue for a few weeks due to a combination of being away, looking after my own dog and fostering Megs, but I remedied (pun unintended!) that today when I spent a few hours walking Wendy and others.
It was the first time I had met her and despite greeting me calmly, she did make it a little tricky for me to clip on my leads by doing a lot of twisting and turning so the rings on her collar and harness eluded my grasp for a few moments. But I ultimately managed to secure them with that we headed off on our walk together.
Wendy is a solid girl and can certainly strain the leads when she wants to! But she did ease off and relax a number of times on our route, principally when no other walkers and their dogs were in sight.
Early on in the walk she found one of the few remaining wet and muddy areas and slapped down on her side into it, making quite a mess of her coat. But I needn't have worried - when we reached the stream, she tore down the bank and waded into it before plonking her body completely under the water. Hey presto, clean again!
And later, while briefly chatting to Toni (with Freya) as we passed them, she lay her wet body in the dry dust and made her other flank grubby! And as before, when we visited another section of the stream, she was straight in and washed it off.

Re: Wendy Am Bulldog x DofB 28 Dec 23 RRemedies Centre
I had a lovely first walk with Wendy today.
She seems to be a very cleaver girl, who was ready to play tricks on her naive walker. It took a little time to get Wendy’s harness on as she was excited, though still responsive to being asked to sit and warning treats. She also knew exactly how to involve me in her game of catch me if you can! What a character.
Once we got going showed me her energetic youth to start but once we got into the walk, she slowed enough to take in all the smells of the woods.
Wendy is a bit of a sniffer dog. She loved finding smells and stopping to have a good sniff and leave behind her own messages. I couldn’t help but think she was a bit of a truffle pig, with the little snorts as she sniffed.
Wendy was very good with passing other people and dogs as we walked and I got the treat of slack leads by the middle of our walk.
I don’t remember Wendy barking at all, despite what otherwise seemed like energetic youthful inexperience.
As we made our return journey the excitement of returning to her familiar surroundings quickened the pace again. And our walk was soon over. She was very good at being left in her room with less drama over unharnessing and she even gave me space to leave her room.
I’m sure there is a home that will find the lovely Wendy the perfect fit for them. See you again soon good girl!
