Oh Momo, what a little darling!
I'm glad to see she's enjoying her walks.

I had another lovely walk with the beautiful Momo the other day. If you meet Momo, she will definitely steal your heart. We started our walk by visiting the poets hut. Momo found her favourite spot behind the sofa and then we had lots of cuddles. After this, we had a little walk and ventured the mud. Momo doesn't mind some mud but isn't keen on being knee deep in it (are any of us?).
She walked really nicely throughout and we even bumped into Marge on the way. Momo seems very friendly with other dogs, she either wants to say hello or appears disinterested.
This girl is an absolute sweetheart

I grabbed a chance to take cute, little Momo out for a walk and I have to say, she was an absolute delight.
We headed down to the village. Momo did not want to walk on the muddy paths but as the only alternative was the road, she was happy to be scooped up in my arms and carried over the worst of the mud.
We paused our walk midway, as Momo rolled onto her back for some tummy rubs, which she lapped up with pleasure.
When we reached the park, it was relatively busy and Momo was nervous about entering it so we continued along the road instead. She was fine with all the traffic that passed us.
She enjoyed rolling about on some grass as you can see from the video.
There was one point on the return when Momo seemed nervous to continue. She came into me for a cuddle and after thinking about it for a minute, she was then happy to go on.
She reacts well to being called a 'good girl' and as such, did much better in the mud on the way back.
She's a tiny staffy sweetheart who can occasionally be nervous of the big world around her. She needs someone caring, gentle and loving to guide her through life and she will be the sweetest companion.

Re: Momo Staffie DofB 15.02.21 Shoreham Foster
Geraldine and James came and met Momo ...they had already fallen in love but with eyes open they saw her little character. We decided it would be best to see how she settles in their home, walk areas, life style before committing. All is going well so far...

Hi,
It's James and Gez, Momo's adoptive parents.
We've been waiting to update all of you who met Momo while she was with Rescue Remedies until we had a really well rounded picture of her personality and how she has settled in.
Just a little about us both; we are both in our mid-late thirties, work from home, childless couple with a big garden. We felt that Momo would be a good fit for us as we had a similar experience when adopting our beautiful old girl Izzy, a female Staffy, who died last year aged 15.
We focused on Momo specifically as we were confident in our ability to give her the best life.
Of course, she is as complicated as the rest of us. She is a beautiful angel 90% of the time and a manic Tasmanian devil the other times, but she is a beautiful soul and we have no doubt that we shall spend a very long time as a happy family.
The first couple of days were disarmingly simple, she was quiet and basically slept throughout the day and nights. We put this down to her being exhausted and feeling very comfortable in a warm and soft environment.
After the first few days she let her guard down and showed just how much she enjoys life's pleasures like toys, cuddles and food. We took her out as much as she would let us, but she is such a home-body and loves just playing football in the garden or playing tug that if she didn't want to go out often. When we did she was inquisitive but a little wary of other dogs and wasn't interested in spending much time with them. She loves strangers though, like all staffies. Especially women, she is friendly but not as affectionate to men. James included.
Momo does have a couple of triggers that send her into a bit of an uncontrollable frenzy: She doesn't like unexpected noises (she reacts a lot at noise during the night) and she doesn't like to wear a collar, harness or lead. As one of the foster couples said in their update, she is hard to calm down. We know a lot of this is down to fear and inexperience with emotions and are both patient enough to get her through this development stage.
She is very intelligent and has taken to training with ease and enthusiasm. We have both been impressed with how quickly she has learnt new commands and although she has spent a couple of weeks testing and bending the rules, she is learning what is acceptable and what is not. She shows excitement by mouthing your hands and feet, and if she gets too excited this can escalate quickly, but is learning better ways to show her excitement. Now, she more often than not, goes to her toys when she gets too hyper.
She is really happy in her new home and we are delighted to say that we are making this a permanent arrangement.
Thank you all.
