Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Re: Dash Lurcher DofB TBAss coming 16th February
Dash is rather dashing!!
I took him for his first walk since being here and he has stolen my heart. He is such a sweet boy and barely even notice you’re walking him, he doesnt pull at all. He wasnt phased by other dog’s barking and just went about his business. I took him for a run around in the paddock and he loved playing fetch with tennis balls yet never strayed far away from me.
Enjoy the photo’s of this adorable fella
king of the castle
little sniff of my phone!

Re: Dash Lurcher DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
Dash is a lovely boy. He was happy and excited to meet me in his kennel and he was easy to harness up and ready to explore the local woods.
Dash proved himself to be a laid back boy. Happy to explore and have a sniff and not phased by anything or anyone we met on our lovely long walk.
He copied with copious amounts of mud, skirting around the worst bits and avoiding puddles where he could but happy to go wherever I directed us.
He was happy to stop and wait for me when my wellies got stuck in the mud, when there was a car needing to pass us and even when a group of 3 horses were ridden towards and past us. At first he seemed a little nervous about the horses but this lasted only a moment before he realised they had plenty of room to pass and were unbothered by his presence. He remained calm, still and quiet with a little reassurance. Further on in our walk we passed a house with a large barking Alsatian who rushed to the fence to shout a hello. Dash paused to check he was in no danger and could pass without meeting the dog head on. After a couple of moments to assess the situation he was happy to carry on and walked past quite confidently and not a single bark.
Soon after this we came back to another area of woods were a small dog was being walked in our direction. Dash was more interested in a smell he had just found than the small dog and they passed each other at a distance without much more than a second glance.
As we enjoyed a further explore of the woods, we were both surprised as we reached a corner that we almost bumped into a loan man coming round the corner towards us. Dash jumped up to say a slightly over enthusiastic hello and we each apologised for startling each other. The stranger was very nice about Dash’s jumpy greeting. This moment and my fist meeting with Dash in his kennel were the only times Dash jumped up, so perhaps he has just a few lessons in good manners to learn.
Otherwise Dash showed me he has a lovely sit when asked to earn treats.
Dash is a lovely calm boy out on a walk, who it felt like anyone would love to have as a companion. I am certainly ready to book in for another walk with him, as soon I can.
Thank you for a lovely walk handsome boy. I hope you find a forever home quickly and until then our wonderful walkers and I will enjoy some lovely walks with you to keep you happy and healthy, while the perfect home is found. X

Re: Dash Lurcher DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
I took the lovely Dash for an evening run in the paddock and little walk around the block. It was my first meeting with him and as soon as I gave him a treat through the kennel door he jumped up and gave me a kiss so I knew he was happy for me to enter. He was so excited for some human interaction and is so affectionate. He had so much energy and zoomies in the paddock and it was lovely to see. He’s a gorgeous boy who I’m sure will find a home in no time at all!

I walked the lovely Dash on Saturday, when he became available I jumped at the chance to be able to walk him. We were out with Scarlett on her supported walk (I can't remember who she was walking - sorry) and he was desperate to be at the front but once he was at the front he settled into a lovely walk and kept checking back on Scarlett. At one point he kept leaping forward and whining so we thought he had got the scent of the pony we had seen earlier in the distance but when we came across the pony he walked past it without reacting at all, he also settled back into a lovely walk. He gives good gentle kisses too

First walk with Dash, what a friendly gentle and quiet soul, he is. Happy to have someone take him for a walk, no loud barking and just one jump to say hello. Harness and leads on and out for a long walk on bridleways and roads, never left my side except to sniff the grass and have full body rolls on large grass patches. Not bothered by other dogs or vehicles (large lorries) which passed close. Well behaved and waited to cross roads, no treat needed to encourage him to wait.
What a delight he is, will get more walks in as bound to find forever home soon.

I had the pleasure of meeting and walking Dash for the first time today, and what a dog he is! He was rather jumpy and excited when I first said hi to him, but he quickly calmed down and was super easy to harness. Walking him was a dream as well! Whenever the lead got taught, he slowed down and matched my pace. He loves a good sniff as well as a bit of fuss… and I was more than happy to oblige!!
Dash is a VERY good boy, and I’m excited to walk him again… but I’d be even more happy if he found his forever home!

Re: Dash Lurcher DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
Another lovely walk with the delightful Dash today. He was excited to great me in his kennel, but also easy to calm and stop from jumping as I had just been told he had not long had breakfast.
So we set off aiming for a calm but potentially long walk in and out of the woods on a lovely sunny day.
Dash was a little jumpy at first, keen to explore and excited to walk past his noisy and excited neighbour (Sidley) who was enjoying some time in a nearby paddock run.
As we cleared the kennels Dash showed he can be the model of good behaviour.
Then some doubts crept in and he was little unsure when I managed to choose a particularly muddy route. But after we stopped for some strokes and he had enjoyed a little reassurance, he agreed we could continue.
It wasn’t too long before we met fellow dog walkers, all out enjoying the sunshine like us.
When Dash realised we were being followed by other dogs he kept stopping to check behind him, slowing progress, so we let a fellow rescue dog pass us to see if he would follow on nicely.
Once behind another dog Dash rather lived up to his name, he was pulling in the lead and lurching forward a little in his excitement to meet a new friend. We managed to keep our distance though as thankfully he is fairly petite so not too hard to control but the pulling was making him pant a little.
To add further complication we were met and then passed by a couple of horse riders with a cycling accompanying them. Dash was a little nervous at first but soon realised they meant him no harm.
After a while of walking behind the other rescue dog we swapped and took to the front. Dash was far better once in-front, Dash stopped pulling and bouncing forward and walked nicely forward at a nice pace with with loose leads. As he had now settled in the company of the other dog he also stopped looking back as much, though he still enjoyed stopping for plenty of sniffs along the walk.
We passed plenty more dog walkers walking the opposite direction to us (all sizes and temperaments) and then we passed again by the two horse and bike who were clearly doing the opposite of the loop we were enjoyed.
Dash doesn’t bark or lunge at other passing dogs, but he does tend to jump up at people approaching to say an enthusiastic hello! But once you know this you can either get his attention when people approach, stand well clear or keep yourself between him and others and then it’s much less likely.
Dash is a lovely quiet boy who clearly loves people and seems pretty good with other dogs. He had certainly won my heart.

Re: Dash Lurcher DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
Walked Dash again on Friday, and he had a lot of energy that day! Very bouncy boy and wanted to sniff everything. Still as friendly as ever, wants to say hi to everyone and happy with all the attention he can get... and more! Finished off our walk with a little run around in the paddock, which definitely helped burn off some of that lurcher energy. He really is a lovely dog, and I would adopt him in a heartbeat if I was in a position to do so. I know it wont be long until he finds his forever home.
