So two weeks on and Archie is beginning to get a routine. He now wakes earlier and enjoys an hour long walk. He has several routes he enjoys and we let him choose which. He tolerates dogs as long as they don’t come into his personal space. For the dogs he chooses to say hello to then he greats with sniffs and a wagging tail. He does not like cats. Ignores birds, horses and bikes. Any human that comes in his direction he wants to say hello to. A real people dog, children and adults. He refuses to use a dog bed and either rests on the floor, sofa or my bed. He is a very clean boy and washes himself morning and evening after his meals. He will not touch his food unless he is told. He has been taught all the basic commands and loves to show them off. A typical Staffie loves nothing better than to destroy any stuffed toy given to him . He loves to play but if you are busy plays ball and chase my tail by himself. He does enjoy watching to to.
But by far his most favourite pastime is just to cuddle up with you on the sofa or bed. He is a very affectionate, cuddle monster who just makes you smile inside and out.

Yesterday Archie went to visit some of my fellow walkers at the rescue. He just adores people and his second love is walks. We intended to weigh him but the scales weren’t not working after dealing with Matthew . Archie is not keen on rain, puddles or mud. Afterwards he came home and needed a lie down .

Archie loves his walks. He goes at 2 speeds sniff mode and quick trot. He tries to say hello to any human that makes eye contact. He ignores dogs unless they are big and in his space or start shouting at him. He hates mud, puddles and rain.

Archie continues to show his real self. There is now no reaction to barking dogs and he has at least 4 doggy friends which he really wants to play with. He give a cute little cry to say please let me play. You would never believe his age as I have not managed to tire him completely on a walk yet. Today we walked for 90 minutes and the first thing he did when he got home was find his ball and ask to play . He has such a love for life and comes across as a puppy but with all the training of an adult dog.

After trying many ways of being able to hoover without it being attacked, I think we have cracked it. Archie is given a ball which he loves. Although he still tries to assist with the hoovering there is no physical contact and my floors are dirt free . He now passes all dogs without being reactive and appears to want to be friends with most. He is an absolute joy to be around and the best hot water bottle at night.

He looks very much at home Karen. He's a very handsome boy and sounds pretty much perfect - I'm not surprised you love having him around.

Archie was in his element this weekend as my grandchildren came to stay. We also had other family members over on the Saturday. He so loves his humans, especially children as they play with him. And if they are busy playing he loves to help

Yes he is, so loves children. He also loves visiting people. Around twice a week we visit my mother. She has a bowl for his water and treats on the side. Once he has said hello and eaten his treats he settles down for a little nap. It’s a dogs life
