Buttercup's character is beginning to emerge. Yesterday she had buried herself under a pillow to keep herself warm! Whilst her mum Cassandra was on my lap getting all my warmth, every so often Buttercup's head would pop up as if to say - "stroke me!" She's got such silky soft fur and really loves a stroke and chin tickle. Looking forward to seeing her grow in confidence 🥰

Buttercup would like you know that she’s very flexible.

She very much enjoyed showing off with her silvervine stick. Such a playful young lady.

As its been two weeks since she came home, I thought I'd give you all a quick update on how Buttercup is settling in. Her name is now Jane, after Jane Austen as Pride and Prejudice is my favourite book, and her mum was also called Cassandra.

It's all been a bit of a change for little Jane and and she is still quite wary and watchful, but the difference in just the last two weeks is amazing. She spent the first couple of days hiding behind the headboard in the spare room, and now she'll come running for treats and try and climb in my lap if they don't come fast enough.

Her playful side is coming out too, and she likes nothing better than chasing her mouse toy around the house, unless it's sneaking up on mum (which sometimes earns her a bop on the nose!). Despite her wariness, she can still be persuaded to come out and play even when there are new people in the house, especially if they're holding treats at the time!

Janey is much more confident if she can see Cassie doing the same thing, and she's been looking more and more intrigued every time Cassie is purring away in my lap, so hopfully she'll get curious enough to try it out for herself sometime soon.

She managed to evade capture for her first trip to the vets, but when on Friday I called some friends over who are experienced Cat Wranglers to come over and help, she of course stepped into the carrier of her own accord as soon as they rang the doorbell, so I think she's going to be trouble when she finds her feet, the little monster <3
