Handsome Poirot is definitely one of my favourites! He holds many wonderful qualities, such as being playful, curious, cuddley, and affectionate. Sometimes he can get a bit excited at the beginning of the walk so he tends to pull strongly however I'm sure this would lessen if he is taken out daily.

Because he is a bit of a nutter I think he is perceived as being high energy, however sometimes he pulls me straight to the poet's hut for a cuddle and nap on my lap. He is a young staffie so we could expect boisterous and teenage behaviours in a home but he holds so many great qualities the training will be well worth it.

Poirot is spending his developmental period in a kennel environment when he should be experiencing new people, places, and dogs! I'd love to see him in a home this Christmas... I'm sure he'd be a talented gift-unwrapper! woo.gif]

Ive been dying to meet Poirot and he did not disappoint. He is such a funny boy, lots of character and lovely to the core.

He was quite eager to get the walk under way and I don’t blame him. He’s still so young and has so much of the world to discover. He made me laugh along the way by deciding mid walk to have a stick break and when rolled on his tummy mid strut. After our walk he wasn’t still tired so we decided to go to the paddocks and boy did he run around. Grabbing one ball, running, finding another, not knowing which ball was the best ball. He was in heaven.

Was so rewarding to see him so happy. We did pause to have a little cuddle and he fully leaned onto me which melted my heart. He is a special boy and I haven't stopped thinking about him. Hope he gets snapped up very soon!

Back with my main man Poirot today. We had such a good walk. We went straight in the paddock to burn off some energy. He responds well to his name and if he gets distracted you can call him over to you if you excite him with a stick or toy. A big puppy really. Full of joy.

He has a really proud walk and can be eager to get going but that’s all part of his charm. He is a lovely dog that’s eager to explore the world.

His impromptu roly polys make me laugh.

But he can also sit on command like a good boy!

To me he is the perfect dog; energetic, funny, loving, handsome and sweet. He’s got it all.

Introduced Poirot to my dog Pepper today.

He did so well. He was more interested in sniffing which is a great sign. No barking of growling- don’t think I’ve ever heard him do either! When he went passed her, he was very well behaved.

Poirot continued to take treats from me which was a sign he wasn’t stressed and sat on command. He did a few rolls on our walks like her normally does and stopped and sniffed lots. I am confident that he has no issues joining a family with other dogs.

We saw a sheep on our walk and Poirot stopped to take it in, he moved along with my command. Even though he is very excited about the world, what’s amazing to me is that Poirot still listens to instructions very well. This is hard for most dogs to do in an excited state. He also constantly checks in with you via eye contact which is a great basis for training. He will only get better once he is in his forever home. I see great potential in this young boy.

Another fun walk with Poirot and my dog Pepper.

He is not much of a barker but was very excited to see me in his kennels. He puts on his harness well. He can be over excited getting out the kennels but that’s about as hard as it gets in my opinion. He is excited so can pull but he’s not reactive. I think with some lead walk training he will be the perfect dog. He doesn’t have a bad bone in his body. Just a young dog that needs exercise.

That little face when I made him wait for treats too long! him

Great eye contact with his walker which is excellent.

Even though he can pull, he does listen when you need him to. When I needed to cross the gate he responded very well to me asking him to wait. Just needs some training. He’ll get there.

Poirot and I had a little trip to Tilgate park for a couple hours. I've walked Poirot for a few months now so I have gotten to know his behaviour and quirks. I was expecting him to be excited by all moving stimuli (ducks, children, bikes, etc) but he was so chill I was gobsmacked! A rainy Tuesday afternoon was a good time to go because it wasn't as busy as usual. Maybe it was because he was away from kennels that he was able to relax a bit.

He walked well on lead, it was slack and he enjoyed sniffing along our walk (usually he's full steam ahead). He listened to my voice if there were squirrels or birds close by and every time we passed a bench he would lie down on it for belly rubs. We had some off-lead time in the large secure paddock where he was very impressed with the stick he found. He's such a sweet boy who would make a wonderful family dog.

I believe he lived with children in his previous home as a little girl ran up to us and he stood still wagging (usually he'd jump up to say hello). He let her stroke his head... it was very sweet to watch. After our walk he was great in the doggy wash (apart from the hairdryer bit!) and he left Tilgate smelling better than when he arrived!

I really do hope Poirot is the next handsome staffy to find a home love4.gif

Poirot was such a sweetheart today. He was so happy that we were going for a walk; didn’t exactly help to get his harness on, but it was a good game. During the walk Poirot trod on something that cut a pad at the rear of his front right foot, and it was obviously bothering him and he didn’t want to walk. I got the car and took him back to the rescue. We checked his foot in the back of the car, but Poirot decided he would rather have a tummy tickle and he rolled on his back!!!! Such a poppet. After the cut was washed, he was carried back to his kennel - he was totally accepting of being handled and checked over love4.gif love4.gif

First of all, look at our gorgeous Poirot in his fluffy coat! He looked so cute this morning I could have shed a tear! As always, Poirot was so happy to see me, it’s so nice to have that sort of reception when you enter his kennel. To me, Poirot is one in a million & I look forward to all of our walks. We set of today with Nero (another one of our RR dogs) and Poirot (as always) was an amazing walking partner, often looking back to check Nero was still there. Poirot is a young dog, he has lots of energy and really does enjoy his walks out - the longer the walk the better! He loves to see other dogs walking by, he takes quite a bit of interest in them but it’s clear all he wants to do is say hello! 😊 When we got back to the kennels, Poirot treated me to a long cuddle. He had both his arms around me and rested his head under my chin. We sat like that for a little while and then sadly I had to go ☹️ I hate to leave him, but I made sure he had his warm coat back on and plenty of treats.

To anyone looking for there next doggy companion, please consider our Poirot. He is such an amazing dog and deserves a nice warm home with a family to call his own. He is sweet, gentle, cuddly, funny, happy, loving & so much more. If I could I would have snappped him up after the first time I met him. So if you are looking for a dog who loves a walk & enjoys his exercise, loves to cuddle, loves to be with you & show you an endless amount of affection then this boy is for you!

I really hope your find your forever home soon Poirot, I have everything crossed for you but I am sure your new family is only around the corner! ♥️ xxx
