Hoops' Story: Hoops' owner is very ill an can no longer care for Hoops and needed to know he was safe. Her family were looking for a safe place for Hoops. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place. Hoops is neutered, chipped, and starting vaccinations. Hoops is in Gatwick Cattery whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our cats, please complete our Cat Homing Questionnaire. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new cat within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay cats: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our cats need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our cats back-up for life.
Hoops's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our cats, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: 17.10.24: Need help to re-home my mum's cat Hoops as she is no longer able to look after him. Mum is seventy, lives on her own and has just had her second stroke this year and is currently in stroke rehab. We have tried to rehome within the family and have asked friends and contacted multiple shelters, so far we have not found anyone to take him. He is a black male, about ?ten and is very chilled and does not bite or scratch. He is microchipped, neutered and is in good health. He loves to be around humans, doesn’t mind being picked up and loves to be stroked, and is a house, and leave the garden occasionally, type cat. K x

Hoops...what a wonderful cat!
Most of our cats are quite small at the moment so when Hoops exited his carrier he seemed a large cat. Pure black with a white chest star. A little unsettled having had a long journey. Here he is being stroked by his ex-owners daughter
The surprize having thought he was about 10...I checked his chip details for information his chip states 15! 01.01.2009 which always tells us it was an estimate i.e. rough year of birth. No one believes this ..he is in good health and although calm doesn't look like an elderly cat...we are hoping he has many years ahead of him.

A wonderful picture of Hoops has appeared... a mystery cat cuddler must have gone and introduced themselves. What a beauty he truly is.

hoops has clearly been a very much loved pet he is used to people, friendly, likes a treat, loves a stroke all the while keeping an eye on what’s going on around him
he is 15 years young and honestly he doesn’t look his age.
he is looking for a new forever home ……maybe he is just what you and your home is looking for

I practically ran to RR to meet Hoops today. He is an incredibly distinguished gentleman! So lovely and friendly. We had a lovely time having some strokes and fuss. I wish I could take his lovely salt and peppered face home! I have no doubt someone will offer him a home, soon.

Hoops is a salt-n-pepper dream indeed
A big chonky panther of a chap, who is ever so gentle and placid and really just wants a nice lap to park himself on - she spent a good 20 mins on mine and would have stayed hours! Not a bad bone in his body and he really is the gentlest of giants.
Please consider Hoops if you are looking for a devoted best friend who will utterly adore you

Here's a video of lovely Hoops today, in his happy place (on a lap), purring away happily! He even blows one of his legendary drool bubbles in the video
He really is magnificent indeed
