Sweet, gentle Faye is ready for a home. Today she just wanted to get in the car, so I let her in mine and she lay down and relaxed on the back seat. Her own sofa and family to love would make her the happiest of girls. Sadly, today was not the day, and instead she enjoyed zooming and bouncing in the paddock, sniffing out treats I threw, and coming back for fuss.

Having not had a chance to walk our angel Faye for quite a while. I was so pleased to reserve a walk with this lovely lady.
Faye was her lovely calm self when I entered her kennel and her kennel mate hogged all the attention given his boisterous ways had earnt him a minor toe injury earlier that morning. She was happy to calmly play second fiddle and after a couple of strokes and a treat she allowed me to walk him first and return for her.
Faye calmly allowed me to harness her up, and though she would have preferred not to wear a muzzle with the help of a treat she was willing to put this on. She seemed particularly subdued.
We set off and she made it clear she was not interested in crossing the ground into the woods, so I followed her lead and we walked out into the entrance lane. She took me to the nearest car park and was most disappointed in me for not letting her into one of the cars.
Poor Faye must have enjoyed trips off site so much of late that she seemed really sad that I did not have a car to let her into (a behaviour I had not met with Faye previously, though greyhounds often do seem to expect a car journey).
After lots of love and persuasion I was able to slowly draw a sad Faye away from the car park, and when I took her muzzle off she cheered a little and was willing to agree to a little exploration walk. We walked around the back of the site and found that a large area of dense vegetation had been cleared and a path created around the perimeter of neighbouring land.
After following the path we arrived at the bridge with two-styles. A place it is easy to get stuck with a greyhound who thinks they can cross one style but not two.
Faye was happy to explore the new path and we reached another open bridge and a style into a public footpath in a field beyond. Having had a good sniff around Faye was then happy to turn back and return with a stop off at a bench for some extra strokes and rubs. Maybe our Faye was just a little tired and bored today and was just in needed of a new place to explore.
She happily greeted a passing fosterer as we returned to the entrance so let’s hope she saw our gorgeous girls charms.
Faye is such a soft, quiet and beautiful heart, it was so sad to see her not feeling herself. The slightly spitty weather probably didn’t help and she may have been worried about her injured kennel mate. I hope our big hearted delicate lady can find her forever home soon.
