Current Status: Available
Bobby's Story: Bobby is now retired from Racing and we were asked to help him. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place. Bobby is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Bobby came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Bobby's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Original referral information: Joe the Greyhound trainer volunteered to give Faye a new boyfriend.

Bobby came into RescueRemedies on the 23rd April 24

Today I took Bobby for a little trip to Earlswood Lakes.

He was a bit hesitant to get into the car at first but with a little time and encouragement, he managed to get in and settle well. Bobby travelled well, smiles all the way.

Once we got to the lakes, he waited patiently in the car to be unclipped and hopped out.

We walked around the lake nice and calm, stopping for lots of sniffs and to watch the ducks. We even said hello to a few people who asked if they could, Bobby was more than happy to get some extra pets in!

We finally stopped off on a bench to have some water and relax before getting back into the car. Bobby was a lot easier to get into the car the second time.

Once we got back to the kennel, he was happy to see Faye and went straight inside for some shade.

Overall, Bobby’s behaviour was amazing and he didn’t pull once on the lead! Can’t wait to take him out again :)

I got my first opportunity to walk Bobby today, having previously met him when returning from with other walkers. Such a beautiful soft stroke as Bobby rested his head up against me.

Bobby craves love and attention, so much so that he seems to always push his way between his kennel mate and any person to get all the love.

Bobby was easy to harness once I was able to keep all four paws on the ground (rather than climbing me for cuddles).

It was amusing to see his excitement as we set off on our first walk. He has little controlled leaps like a jumping pony, but while staying close so it wasn’t too difficult to keep control of the leads.

The initial excitement passed quickly and then he walked beautifully; always staying neatly by my side. Where some of the female greyhounds have the tendency to make me swap leads from one had to the other so I can switch sides while they avoid the mud. There was no weaving around and Bobby was perfectly happy to stay on my left side throughout.

We met some walkers while out on our woodland walk and he politely approached with a sniff to request some attention, then very much enjoyed their strokes.

After a lovely walk and taking his kennel mate out to. We returned to a lot more boisterous attention seeking. After plenty of jumpy muddle cuddles, Bobby finally calmed enough to allow me to remove Faye’s harness (next time I’ll remember to take her muzzle off before entering so she doesn’t have to wait).

I look forward to our next walk, knowing what a calm, polite and friendly experience it was once Bobby’s initial excitement was overcome.

For the sweetest of snuggles; get yourself a greyhound.

After a busy, tiring or stressful day, you may ask yourself: where can I go to get the warmest of welcomes and some guaranteed doggy cuddles? At least I did recently. I came up with the answer straightaway - visit the gorgeous RR greyhounds, of course!

Hayley and De Niro were out having walkies but I was pleased to see the sweet, eager faces of Faye and Bobby in their kennel. Faye has a calm welcome whilst Bobby shows his welcome in his excited body - both are adorable.

Sure enough, soon after my appearance, I had two sweet and quiet, warm doggy bodies and soft little heads leaning up against me, wanting all the strokes and giving me all the love.

Bobby also has the most beautiful, marble-like coat markings that's hard to see in photos.

Such gorgeous, loving dogs who will really cheer you up and calm you down.
