Sapphire's Story: Sapphire was handed to a Vet with a severe ear problem; her owner could not afford Vet treatment. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Sapphire is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Sapphire came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Sapphire's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: A Pets@Home employee was phoning around for the Vet on his day off trying to secure Sapphire a Rescue place, she had nowhere to go.
Sapphire came into RescueRemedies on the 23rd May 24

Re: Sapphire Staffie x DofB Nov 22 RRemedies Centre
I had the pleasure of walking Sapphire today. She was a little unsure when I entered her kennel but gladly took some treats. Once out of the kennel she came out of her shell and was very happy and enjoyed her walk. We walked briskly and sapphire enjoiyed sniffing and being out and about. Very beautiful markings.
She is a little unsure of things right now but will soon be settled and will be very popular

New walker Lorraine took Sapphire to the paddock today. While she was nervous coming out of her kennel and needed some coaxing, once out she was right up for a walk and fun in the paddock.
Re: Sapphire Staffie x DofB Nov 22 RRemedies Centre
I’ve been fortunate enough to walk Sapphire twice this week. On the first meeting she was quite reserved and was unsure about having the leads clipped on, it took some convincing. Sapphire was a changed woman yesterday. I entered her kennel and she came bounding over straight away and couldn’t wait for me to clip the leads on. We headed straight for the paddock as I know she loves to play ball. Sapphire is a little pocket rocket out and about, rarely stopping for sniffs just wants to go full steam ahead! We passed horses and she reacted very well. Calm as you like. After the walk we returned to the paddock as I felt like sapphire still had a lot of energy. We played ball for a while and inbetween had some cuddles. Sapphire is such a loving, gentle and energetic girl. One would be so lucky to call her theirs!

I had the pleasure of meeting Sapphire the other day for the first time, and what an absolute sweetheart she was!
She was initially unsure of me wanting to put the leads on but I showed her the leads so she knew what to expect and she allowed me to do so.
Once out, she was very keen to explore, and walked briskfully, but listened well when I asked her to "wait" or go "this way".
We found the little hut with seats and she gave me a quick cuddle and sat on my lap! I gave her some treats and she took these so gently.
Then we moved on to the paddock. She loved running around, chasing a ball and then having a break and sitting with me. She was such a sweet girl, an absolute gem!

Gorgeous Saphire! She’s such a beautiful dog, she’s very loving and playful. Slightly fearful in her kennel still but as soon as she is out, she is a different dog! Great at meeting new people and other dogs, loves to play with the ball in the paddock and who can resist her beautiful eyes?

I always look forward to seeing Sapphire! This was my second visit to her and she has changed so much in just a week! She seemed so much more confident and eagerly waited by the door for me to put her harness/leads on (and very patiently I might add as it took me a moment to figure out).
We had a lovely walk around the grounds, cuddles in the hut and played in the paddock again.

I always look forward to my walks with Sapphire. She is such a friendly loving girl and really enjoys being out and about. She was excited to see me and patiently waited for me to put on her harness and leads, before our walk. She continues to walk quite briskfully but she is a very good girl who listens well!
We then spent a bit of time in the paddock and she loves playing catch with the balls and running around.
We then had a little cuddle at the end, she's such a sweetheart

Have a lovely walk and play time in the paddock with Sapphire today. She was her happy usual self, loved playing catch with tennis balls, and rolling around in the grass.
Sapphire is such a friendly bundle of joy!
