Poncho was much less barky with his neighbours today and very happy to go for a walk. Was very rainy and muddy but this didn’t bother him- he likes to go everywhere at 100mph but as you can see from this video he responds well to his name.

Just look at little Poncho in a calm, contemplative mood! To be honest at the start of our walk he was very, very excited. We met Darren, miracle worker of all things practical at RR, as we left the site and Poncho was delighted to give him a lovely greeting. Poncho loves everyone! He is an absolute joy. We went for quite a long walk as he was my first walk of a long day and Poncho needs a long walk as he has quite a lot of energy.
The woods were quiet and so we didn't meet anyone - just had a quiet, lovely time. Poncho likes to walk fast. We stayed in the woods, despite the mud, because Poncho is traffic reactive. This will give his future owner something to work with Poncho on - he is a dear little dog and likes to please and so I think this problem can be rectified.
I put him back in his pen with a few high value treats. See you next time Poncho.

Poncho has had the perfect Easter break with his first overnight stay since coming to rescue remedies and he was AMAZING!
He had a trip to the beach where he met lots of other dogs and wanted to play with all of them ( especially the ones with tennis balls ) no issues with other dogs, very playful
He loved the sea and the sun!
He wasn’t too keen on the car journey (around 40 minutes) but a short drive from the kennels to home he was fine with!
When we got home he was exhausted and had a lovely snooze on the sofa
He slept all through the night and had no problems making himself at home
He is such an affectionate dog and loves to give kisses
He does not like it if someone leaves the room he is in and closes the door, he does cry and becomes quite anxious. He was easily distracted with a treat or a ball or even a cuddle but definitely something that he needs to work on
Car reactive at times so have to be careful when walking on roads but in fields/woods he loves having a sniff and watching the wildlife
He is very intelligent and comes to you when you call his name, he knows lots of commands ‘sit, paw’ etc
But does need a home that is able to give him a lot of time and effort, he is absolutely worth it !

Had a lovely day out with Poncho on Saturday!
He is proving to be very sociable when it comes to other dogs and loves a curious sniff.
He’s also been introduced to two children (over the age of 4) so no sudden movements and the children don’t take much of an interest in them but he seems to be perfectly happy accepting cuddles from them.
He had a swim in a stream and a lovely run through the fields.

Poncho seems to be popular with the walkers but I got an opportunity to walk him today! He’s such a cutie- on a mission when walking but he’s small so easy to manage. I took him to the paddock where we played with the ball and he happily ran around and sat on my lap for some cuddles. He really knows his name and will come running to you.

Poncho had a nice run around in the paddock today, played some ball, sat on my lap and did some tricks. He made it clear he wanted to go on a walk by running to the gate and back to me a few times.

Poncho and my cockapoo Rudy met today and they were so good together- a few sniffs here and there but were mostly very neutral and happy plodding along next to each other. We walked over the motorway and along some busier roads and poncho didn’t react once, some rude off lead labs also came up to our dogs but both handled it very well. It was the first time poncho had met my partner and he jumped right on his lap whilst we were at the park. We hope to do some short term fosters with poncho but hopefully he finds his forever home soon!

Well what can I say. Another lovely walk with Poncho. He is reacting less and less to cars and lorries, but since on lead easy to manage when he does. He will beaver along sniffing them look up at you with those..any treat eyes. Then when you sit down up on your lap with the odd kiss. He will stand a fuss for ages. A super boy who is also good if other dogs pass.
