Lots of cuddles today for my boy. He’s a big soppy lovebug.

We met Patch for the first time 2 weeks ago, and were excited to see him again today! We didn’t get very far on our walk last week, and it took a lot of encouragement with treats (I think we were being mugged if I’m honest
).
This week we looked for some company and ended up on a large social walk with 6 companions! I took Hugo, whilst Matt took Patch, joining Selwyn, Hector, Paddy, Sully and Rudy, and Patch was a star!
He is very gentle and polite for such large boy, and happily took his place in the middle of the pack, completely unbothered by those in front and behind!
A+ for this chap!

Patch was a wonderful boy on the charity walk. He said hello very nicely to lots of humans and dogs. We walked with little Kissy for a while and they had some very friendly play bows, followed by some sweet little kisses! He does struggle with his confidence a little on leaving the kennel grounds without his doggy friends, and likes the company of other dogs whilst walking.

What can I say about this lovely young man? He is an absolute pleasure to walk, and kindness just emanates from him. No matter what’s going on around him, he’s always very calm, looking back every now and again to make sure I’m doing alright (this is what I tell myself - I know it’s actually to ensure his cheese and biscuits supply is still present and correct!). He’s such a sweet boy, and I know the perfect home is out there for him.

I concur with the previous.

Patch spent the afternoon at my house, lovely to have him. A few main things that people might want to know aside from everything that has been said in his previous posts:
- Had some mad zoomies for ten mins then got on with sniffing things and figuring the place out
- He had his food, he sat and waited until I said on you go before he ate.
- I cooked my lunch and he stood behind me, eventually lay down behind me, seemed to be settled with the cooking etc.
- When I sat to eat at the table he cried at my plate a little. I told him no, ignored him and he went and lay down at the back door looking out.
- He had a couple of barks at birds out the back garden a few times, and at people talking coming from the front of the house whilst we were in the garden. Sat in the garden for a bit and he watched the birds, no barking out there.
- He tried to start chewing his bed but he stopped straight away when asked to stop. He knows “oy” and “ah ah”
. Didn’t fuss with anything else in the house (the bed is a big stuffed soft one so a bit like a big toy).
- he was very good in the shower - nervous to start with. Before I started he didn’t want it on his paws at all but with a licky matt and some patience we got his whole body in so he was a VERY good boy!!
- he loves to cuddle and be close, he’ll sit right on your lap
- can get over excited if hyped up when playing (he is a puppy!) but calms pretty quickly if you stop.

Carl and Isobel come to meet Patch today and it was love before they arrived and affirmed on meeting. Match made in heaven.

Wonderful news. I so love this boy. I have never walked this lovely boy but have befriended him through his pen door and he is totally adorable. Good luck Patch - start enjoying the wonderful life in the home you so deserve.
