Current Status: HOMED
Summer's Story: Summer was found abandoned and unclaimed within a council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Summer is neutered, had her tail off as she was banging against everything, chipped, and undergo vaccinations. Summer came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Summer's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Re: Summer Staffie x DofB Jan 23 RescueRemedies Centre
First time meeting the cheeky, Summer today. Such a sweet natured youngster. She's going through some maintenance at the moment with the cone of shame on and a poorly looking tail but that didn’t stop her enjoying a few trips up and down the lane. She sat nicely for a treat or two and loves some attention. My heart has been stolen by this bundle of fun.

Summer is a bundle of energy. When you enter her kennel she practically jumps into your arms for cuddles. She is lively on the lead but it is pure joyful energy and she has been cooped up for a while recovering so this is not unexpected. Summer is feeling better now and is looking forward to adventures new.

Alyss came with her father Phil to meet dogs today. Summer made an entrance with sparkle and they observed actually how she soon relaxed and showed her soft centre.
Thank you Alyss...Summer so needed to get on with life!

Summer, now named Ember, has been such a delight already. She has been loving playing with her new toys and having many snoozes (she is quite the snorer!). Ember is very affectionate and cuddly but equally independent and confident. She is learning so quickly and everyone in the family has already fallen in love with her!

Ember has been with me for 4 months now and is well and truly settled She lives life to the max; she plays hard, loves hard and she sleeps hard. She is so cheeky and makes me laugh everyday, her recent trick is ever so gently and sneakily stealing my scrunchies (even when they are in my hair still! ). She recently won 2nd place for best rescue in a local dog show (obviously she should have been first but let's not go there)!
Ember is doing well with obedience and walks very nicely on a lead but we are just still working on the excitement when she sees other dogs and learning to greet with a calmer energy . She isn't a fan of being left alone but that is improving day by day.
She recently shed her blonde and is now a red bombshell, really living up to her name! Everyone who meets her tells me how gorgeous and sweet she is. She still has a 'baby' bark, people assume she is a tiny dog and are shocked when they see her
She loves to wear her ears differently every day, very fashionable!
She is a big fan of other dogs and in particular another rescue remedies cutie Bruno. They have had a few walks together now and get on so well
One of my favourite things about Em is her preferred sleeping position .
She lives up to her name and adores the sun and warmth, sunbathing any chance she gets.
Thanks Lynn and rescue remedies for bringing this beautiful sweet pup into my life .
