Sage's Story: Sage was found abandoned and unclaimed within a NW council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Sage is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Sage came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Original referral information: 20.11.23; We were alerted that Sage was booked in with the ve6t on the 23rd Nov to be Put to Sleep so we are stretching ourselves to save her

28578, Sage, Female, est 4 yrs, 21kg, 16", no chip.

Active dog that needs working with, wants to be with her handler all the time. Arrived with food possession issues but has now complied to requirements.

Due to demand on service PTS date of the 23rd Nov has been set. Good with people and other dogs in kennel environment.

I was fortunate enough to meet Sage today upon her arrival into kennels. She is a lovely girl. Very petite, very friendly and appears to be keen to meet other dogs, she is interested and did meet a few through the paddock fence whilst waiting to meet Santa! She took treats gently and was very affectionate towards Hillbre, another walker whom she met whilst waiting for some paddock time. She has unusual colouring but is a very pretty little dog. Hillbre is taking her out on Tuesday, so further updates to follow! She is super cute and I did enjoy spending time with her.

As Kate says - further updates to follow on this fabulous little girl - well here they are from today. I really was taken by her sweet little face and to spend time with her in the sunshine was just magical. She is very quiet, haven't heard her utter a sound, SO affectionate and is very friendly to other dogs. She said hello to Murray in his kennel as she was passing and he was equally friendly, we then walked a little bit with Phoebe who is also a very friendly little sprocker and they both enjoyed greeting one another and walking together. At first she seemed nervous to leave the kennel block so after 3 gentle attempts we made it out and after that she really enjoyed it. I went to say good-bye to her after I had finished my walks but she was sleeping like an angel in her bed and looked so peaceful. She really seems like a fabulous snuggle bug of a dog and I really hope she is on a warm sofa by Xmas.
