Sage's Story: Sage was found abandoned and unclaimed within a NW council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Sage is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Sage came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

I was fortunate enough to meet Sage today upon her arrival into kennels. She is a lovely girl. Very petite, very friendly and appears to be keen to meet other dogs, she is interested and did meet a few through the paddock fence whilst waiting to meet Santa! She took treats gently and was very affectionate towards Hillbre, another walker whom she met whilst waiting for some paddock time. She has unusual colouring but is a very pretty little dog. Hillbre is taking her out on Tuesday, so further updates to follow! She is super cute and I did enjoy spending time with her. love4.gif

As Kate says - further updates to follow on this fabulous little girl - well here they are from today. I really was taken by her sweet little face and to spend time with her in the sunshine was just magical. She is very quiet, haven't heard her utter a sound, SO affectionate and is very friendly to other dogs. She said hello to Murray in his kennel as she was passing and he was equally friendly, we then walked a little bit with Phoebe who is also a very friendly little sprocker and they both enjoyed greeting one another and walking together. At first she seemed nervous to leave the kennel block so after 3 gentle attempts we made it out and after that she really enjoyed it. I went to say good-bye to her after I had finished my walks but she was sleeping like an angel in her bed and looked so peaceful. She really seems like a fabulous snuggle bug of a dog and I really hope she is on a warm sofa by Xmas. love4.gif

Sage is a very cute girl with a friendly nature. She has a little bit of a stubborn streak but I think that was mostly down to nerves. She has only just arrived and been for neutering, so has not had time to settle and get her bearings. She will be popular with our volunteer walkers and no doubt will be out and about a lot and we will see her personality shine through as she gets settled and more confident. Can't wait to capture her smile to share with you all.

Sage is just beautiful in looks and personality. She was a little apprehensive when I first entered her kennel, so I just crouched down to let her take her time. She quickly warmed with some treats and affection. It was simple to take her coat off and put her harness on and leave her kennel. She was a little stubborn about walking through some puddles (I don’t blame her!) so we went an alternative route out of the block and began our walk into the village. Sage was a little weary of traffic, but nothing she couldn’t handle with reassurance. She walks perfectly on the leads, slack all the way. Back in her kennel we enjoyed lots of cuddles and kisses, which shows she quickly warms and trusts you with a little time! I love this girl already and can’t wait to walk her again if I’m lucky. I’m sure she will be super popular amongst all the walkers and hopefully snapped up by her forever family in the mean time! Kiss of love.gif

I caught up again with Sage on Sunday. She welcomed me into her kennel with licks, and she took the sausages gently in return. Safe was easy to harness up, and was ready and keen to go out for a walk. She had no reaction to the other dogs around her when leaving the kennel block. Sage is a sniffer and is interested in her surroundings. She doesn’t pull on the leads and is happy to trot along beside you and just in front. I hope she finds her forever home soon, she is just too cute! Kiss of love.gif

Safe to say I have totally fallen for this little girl and was so excited to see her again this week. As others have said she is very welcoming when entering her kennel and loves to cuddle and give kisses. She was eager to head out and passed the other dogs in their kennels without any reaction. She is lovely and easy to walk and we met three dogs while out and all their owners were very support of the rescue kennels and happy to help in assessing Sage's reaction to other dogs. From what I have seen she shows cautious curiosity as her tail is wagging and she just stares. She was very welcoming when a young Labrador came to say hello and after each encounter she gave an excited little bounce around and seemed very pleased to have made a new friend. She really is a sweetheart and we enjoyed some time in the Shepherds Hut together after our walk.

Oh my gosh. What a sweet sweet girl sage is!!!
I treated myself to a sage walk today. I know she has many fans so it’s been hard to get a look in and I must say I was not disappointed!

I went into Sage’s kennel and I was instantly smitten. What a cute little thing. She was keen to greet me but was also a little nervous. She alternated between giving me lovely little hellos and rushing back to her bedroom. In the end she decided me (and the sausages I was delivering) beet hiding in her bedroom and we headed off for a walk with misty.

Sage was an absolute dream on the walk. She headed off with gusto but never pulling on the lead. She didn’t really acknowledge misty, they both pottered along without a care in the world. We met a lovely lady with a none RR dog and stopped for a chat. Sage soaked up the complaints and was very calm and happy around her dog. After our brief interaction Sage decided she’d actually quite like some mid walk cuddles and we had a lovely little fuss. Little monkey Sage realised I had my sausage in my pocket tried to swipe one, it’s safe to say she was comfortable with me at that point.

I’m sure this little dreamboat is going to be snapped up in no time so I’ll make the most of all the walks I can get in! Little cutie. Kiss of love.gif

Absolutely adore this little girl and I know I have already posted many pics of her face but had to add another - she really doesnt look this sad when she is out bouncing around and has found her confidence in the last few weeks. She seems so curious of other dogs and never displays anything other than wanting to get to know them. She is a great walking companion for other dogs needing confidence and she gives the best cuddles and kisses - she almost wants to climb inside and just give all the love she obviously has. As much as I want to see her each week, I really do hope she is in a warm loving home for Xmas as she is a special little soul xx
