Young mr Wilson had a treat fest today he managed to beg some sausage off Dave on the way and I had more of his fave chicken pieces

Wilson was very happy to be out wandering through the woods in the shade and as always impeccably behaved and so very gentle

When back in his room he shares with Ethel and Owen he heads straight for his girlfriend Ethel to check she is ok , poor Owen , I think he’s a bit of a gooseberry 🙄that said, the three musketeers are very respectful of each other and never try to pinch each other’s treats when I am feeding them all

I think when Wilson does get a home his roomies will become a little braver and perhaps we can walk one of them

Please consider Wilson he’s too young to spend his growing up in kennels

Enjoyed a walk up the lane and then round the woods with Mr Wilson today , he was eager as ever for his special chicken and happy to share some later with his roomies .

Wilson is so easy to walk he doesn’t muck about he’s just calm and gentle strolling along having a sniff or two on the way.

Young Mr W was very chilled today , we had a good walk down the road then to his fave spot by the stone bench in the woods, he enjoyed sniffing a lot today which is a sign he is relaxed and taking his time so we had an unhurried meander as he caught up with his scents as only dogs can

Lovey boy , surely his home is out there somewhere ? 💖💖💖

Wilson Hunterway X

Post by Jan Case »

Lovely walk with Wilson yesterday. He is definitely more relaxed on his walks now and is such an easy boy to walk, he tends to like to walk just to the side and behind me a little and I check occasionally that he is still with me because the lead is so slack!!! He does sometimes venture in front but there is never any pulling on the lead, he is a very sweet dog. When we get back to his room he and Ethel and Owen stand in a line in front of me and take it in turns to have a small piece of cheese from my hand, they have 6 small pieces each and they know the routine, one for you, one for you and one for you, repeat, repeat, repeat !! :biggrin.gif:

Wilson and I had a fabulous walk yesterday, he was so relaxed throughout it was a joy to see. Wilson is a very handsome boy and walks beautifully beside you, occasionally venturing to the front, but mostly comfortable beside you.

Wilson is a dream of a dog really. Gentle, non reactive, just a little bit on the nervous side, but easily reassured once he has learned to trust you, he would suit a quieter home I feel where he can learn to relax completely love4.gif

Wilson enjoys his walks now and displays a calm confidence on them that is just wonderful to behold. He is ready to go home. He would like a calm home with humans that will give him time to learn to trust them and not rush him. He is a fabulous gentle soul, and all he has known of life is rescue, we love him, but it's not the same as being in a home. He has always shared his room with other dogs and so, I think, would be quite happy in a home with another dog, in fact another dog could well help him to settle quicker. love4.gif

I find it incomprehensible that the rescue have not received a single enquiry about this lovely gentle soul. Yes, Wilson has been with us a long time, and he has come on such an amazing journey during that time. He can to us as a pup from a hoarding situation where he had been kept in truly dreadful conditions with virtually no human contact. He came in with 2 other pups from the same place. Peaches adapted most quickly to human interaction and her place in the world and was homed relatively quickly. Owen is still quite wary of people and new experiences. Wilson has truly completed his journey from feral pup to well rounded adult dog and he is such a gentle character, he will thrive, if given the opportunity, in a home environment with a loving family of his very own. He enjoys going out on his walks and likes to stop and soak up the smells and sounds around him. He is still a little nervous of unexpected noises but accepts reassurance and is happy to move on given a moment or two to accept there is no danger. He has come so far along the road of 'normal' dog behaviour that he now stops on his walk to ask you for a treat thumbs.gif this is absolutely brilliant because when I first started walking him he was too scared of me and the change of environment to accept anything. I would love to see this wonderful boy happy in his very own home, experiencing life properly and loved as he deserves to be. Wilson will take courage from calm understanding humans, and he will give back so much more love4.gif

Wilson continues to show what a special boy he is, prepared to walk in all weathers, gently accepting treats and on Tuesday being brave enough to meet Amy with a hand sniff and accept a little treat. It would be just amazing to see this lovely boy in a home of his very own :yes.gif:
