Bunny's Story: Bunny was abandoned in kennels in early Sept. She wasn't coping well and needed a Rescue Place. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Bunny is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Bunny wears a muzzle in public as she can get nervous with strangers approaching her. Bunny was in our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £200. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Bunny came into RescueRemedies 11th November 22

Bunny arrived yesterday so is the new girl on the block! She is very pretty and quite small. She is probably 16/17" to the shoulders; a Heinz 57 with terrier and small Lurcher and Staffie in the mix. She has a smooth coat on her body but longer hair on her belly. She is alert and keen. Defo not for cats and on the look out for any wild life. Yet to affirm how she is settles around dogs; can walk straight past a series of dogs behind gates they suddenly arrive in another place and she focuses on a dog close by.

Bunny is intense and looks to jump fencing... she's also focused on coming out through the gate with you when you are trying to leave so you need a few tactics to achieve exit alone. She loves a cuddle and is affectionate.

What an absolutely fabulous, friendly girl. As soon as I entered her kennel, Bunny was up on her hind legs giving me the most wonderful cuddles. With leads on she was keen to get out, but passed all the other dogs without fuss. Bunny is very alert and does not miss a thing. Every movement, sound and smell are of intense interest. She can pull on the lead if she sees or hears something she wants to go and investigate, but most of the time she has her nose to the ground, sniffing and taking her time with a loose lead. She is very tuned in and responsive and loves attention and cuddles. While Claire and I were doing her photoshoot she was interested in watching the dog in the big paddock but would tune in straight away if we called her and gave her our attention. She sat immediately I asked her which is super impressive as she doesn't know me and there was a lot going on around us. She also took treats very gently, voluntarily giving Claire her paw politely each time. Bunny is a wonderful fun, friendly, delightful girl who I am sure will thrive in the right home.

I took Bunny out for the first time yesterday. She is very sweet and affectionate. She was easy to get out of her kennel and we went for a long walk. She is very alert to sights, sounds and smells. She reminds me of a mini lurcher. A lovely dog that I can’t imagine being at Rescue Remedies for long.

I walked Bunny for the first time yesterday, and very pleasant it was too.

We did a loop around the village and she had no issue with the passing traffic, people or dogs. She was very inquisitive, poking her head into a hole in a fence, a gap in a hedge, and even right into an upturned traffic cone!

A lovely girl who I look forward to walking again soon.

I met Bunny for the first time yesterday. We had a lovely walk together. I can only echo what others have said previously, she is a delight to be with and is in to everything…hole in the fence? Bunny was there already! Slight gap in the hedge? Bunny will check if it needs investigating! All joking aside though, despite her sheer curiosity for everything, she is easy to direct and responds quickly to a gentle ‘leave’. She is constantly on the go, but certainly not in a manic way. We passed a couple of children and they sum her up better then I ever could: “she’s an eager dog”

Bunny and I had a lovely walk yesterday with Jude and Rocky Pup. Bunny was a little excited at the beginning at the prospect of having a doggy companion but she settled down and walked well. She is a busy girl on a walk, always on the alert but very tuned in and managable.

Had the pleasure of taking Bunny to the vets for her 2nd vaccination. I was so impressed with Bunny as was the vet. Bunny jumped into the travel crate and settled well, not a squeak on the journey and she travelled in on the passenger seat next to me so we enjoyed each other's company. She curled around and settled immediately.

Although she was on alert entering the vets she was very receptive and manageable and we didn't need to muzzle her, I just held her close and as she calmed the vet injected her. Treat delivered and she jumped back into the car to enjoy the journey home.

Wised up to putting her in her kennel I removed harness etc and just released the lead as her attention went to be bedding area and door closed we kissed goodbye and I reminded her what a good girl she was. Yes Bunny has a calm centre just alert outside hence of all her breed blends I have placed her under terrier Rescue as she needs a family alert to her needs out and about and very alert of exit-management within the home..

Helen came to meet Bunny today. Bunny is young and still hasn't bought her skills together and has a dollop of terrier in her mix. Helen witnessed her character and stood forwards for her! Ros will share all...

Helen met Bunny yesterday and was won over by her sweet nature.
We went for a walk and saw squirrels in the woods and then other dogs in the car park. Helen saw how Bunny can get over excited sometimes by these distractions but accepts Bunny for the lovely girl she is.
I think the final homing for 2022 and hopefully a very happy 2023 for Bunny in her new home.
