Pip's Story: Pip has grown up with another older dog, 2 cats, chickens, teenagers with 5 visiting children and a dog. Pip is nervous of new people and needs a quieter home. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Pip is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Pip is in our Rescue Centre near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Pip's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Original referral information: Pip's owners called, desperate to find a Rescue place for Pip as he wasn't coping with their busy lives.

Pip came into RescueRemedies on the 19th October 22

I had the pleasure of meeting Pip last Thursday who was being walked by Anna and what a handsome fellow he is. I was walking Toby and Helen was walking Robbie so 3 scruffy little black patterdales all in a line. After initial getting to know each other, they followed each other beautifully not a murmur between them. We did meet 2 sets of other terriers who were extremely noisy so our 3 could be forgiven for a small vocal session but once they had passed all was quiet again.
Out on the walk Robbie leading, Pip in second place and Toby bringing up the rear.

Pip was quite endearing and had obviously taken a shine to Anna and was loving his walk.

They made quite a picture the 3 of them trotting along behind each other, like they had known each other a long time.

I have accompanied Anna walking Pip on a couple of occasions and getting to know him. Today we ventured out on our own, despite the rain, Pip was happy to be out walking. Anna told me that Pip loves cheese, so my pockets were full. I noticed that talking to Pip he stopped continually waiting for cheese, so I stopped talking to him, he then started to walk , stopping for a sniff and munch of grass. We had a lovely walk around the woodland area, I am looking forward to getting to know this handsome little lad. Videos will be uploaded in the week Kiss of love.gif

His nerves are settling down and are very superficial. When I arrived in his kennel his eyes met mine with a quest ?can we go for a walk...

Enjoyed a lovely walk with Pip and joined a wonderful group of his fellow Fell terriers Roco, Spencer and Lenny the Cocker Spaniel

Pip and I had our first walk together. He usually likes company so we went out with Bella who was walked by Becca. Lynne kindly got him out of his kennel for me as Pip does not know me and was a bit anxious. However, by the end of the walk I think we were firm friends - helped a bit I think by the ready supply of high quality treats I had in my pocket. He walked very well and was not upset by passing dogs. He is a dear little pattie and I really do look forward to walking him again. Kiss of love.gif

Today Pip was more than happy for me to get his leads on and to take him out into the very muddy woods. Once again, he knew there was a ready supply of high value treats at hand! What a dear little dog he is! He walked fast and with interest and seemed to enjoy the opportunity to stretch his legs and to have a sniff. I am getting more and more fond of him - and I have only walked him twice. I can see that he is fairly nervous and he needs to go at his pace, learning to trust his walker. Bless him - onwards and upwards Pip. Kiss of love.gif

Another great walk with Pip - he seemed to love going out in the snow and of course really enjoyed his mid-walk treats. It is great to see him coming more and more out of his shell. Kiss of love.gif

Pip so enjoyed his Thursday morning walk - especial enjoyment because he was out walking with two of his RR pals - fluffy, affectionate Toby and sleek, amazing Stan. Pip definitely felt one of the in crowd and loved every moment of the walk. We didn't pass many other dogs and he was able to concentrate on following his new buddies. Pip is shy and a bit nervous but he is easily befriended with high value treats and once you have befriended him he gives you a lovely greeting and enjoys spending time with you. I can't wait to walk him again. wheyhey.gif

Another great walk with Pip yesterday - this time on his own but that didn't spoil his enjoyment. He walks well, no pulling, and just loves being outside. Loves cuddles and treats too - what is there not to love about this little pattie? woo.gif]
