Brucie's Story: Brucie grew up with elderly owners. One is seriously ill and so we need to find Brucie a new family without children as he can growl over precious items. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Brucie is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Brucie was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £200. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Brucie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: Emergency call from a Vet Nurse alert us to a 2 year old Labrador needing help and no one able to help.

Brucie came into our Rescue on the 21st July 22

Brucie is settling into our Rescue having arrived on Thursday night. He had a walk the next morning and jumped into the crate on in the back of the dog mobile. He presented well at the vets and accepted a muzzle while he had scary things done to him like a pre-med injection and weighing. Brucie is 46 kilograms.

He enjoyed his 'sleep' and drowsily walked out 3 hours later neutered.

This morning he is brighter and definitely is my friend. Enjoyed 30 mins wandering around a sunny grass paddock and happily went back into his cleaned kennel. Today he will make more friends over today.

I saw Brucie with Lynne as he was finishing his morning walk on Friday and was about to hop into the dog mobile.

He looks like a lovely boy (as all labs inherently do) and I Iook forward to meeting and walking him in the near future. thumbs.gif

Lynne introduced me to Brucie today. What a lovely boy. He was happy to go for a walk and savours every blade of grass he comes across. He can set a pace when he feels like it but never pulls. Happy with a little fuss and wags at clever or good boy. Was a little reluctant to go back into his run but is very obedient. Bless him he looks older than his years. I think he is a real fun loving boy . He is eager to please.
Lovely boy hope he finds a family that can love him as much as his last one did. love4.gif

It was lovely to meet Brucie for the first time today - he's settling well and we enjoyed a livelier than expected walk as he set quite a pace in between sniffs! What a sweetheart love4.gif

Mark came today to meet Brucie. He managed him on his lead from the off...and witnessed how precious he was with the paddling pool but not so much with balls. Brucie was playful and relaxed more and more in Mark's company.

After a lovely walk next to Lady the Shepherdess he had bond with which was lovely to witness in the making. Happy days
