Mercia Rottie x Lurcher DofB 04.10.18 Nottingham

Took the beautiful Mercia out today. She was very eager to get going, but settled down throughout our walk and we managed nice long, relaxed leads. She does pull towards dogs, and prances about, and today we were met with two horses who received a similar greeting from her! But she's easily moved on an is a truly lovely companion out and about.

I spent some time in the paddock with sweet Mercia yesterday.

Mercia had a great time at the secure field this afternoon.
She travelled well in the van. Absolutely loved charging around and stretching her legs. She chased the ball and enjoyed a game of tuggy too! She’s such a sweetheart, although she can be excitable and bouncy around other dogs, she such an affectionate, gorgeous girl.

I’ve been having a lovely time these past few Saturdays walking Mercia, she is an absolute sweetheart. Very keen to start her walks but once she’s on the move she walks very nicely with a loose lead. She has occasionally barked at a few dogs but we’ve kept a nice distance so more often than not she sits calmly when dogs have walked passed us. I have truly fallen for this stunning girl

I had a lovely walk with Mercia yesterday. We were followed by Roxy and Winston, and she wasn't loving it for the first 10 minutes. She kept turning around and having a leap on the lead, and a nervous growl. Then how the tables turned! She began waiting for them, looking to me for encouragement and a stroke, and then continued on without fuss. She's such a sweet dog and clearly looks for a little bit of reassurance so that she knows she's ok. I was so impressed by how much more settled she became, with dogs within close proximity. No pictures this time, but she's a beauty.

Mercia and I had our second walk together yesterday. After a rather bouncy greeting, we headed straight off for a paddle in the stream. Due to the temperature, we then went for a mooch in the woods, stopping off for a sit down and of course, lots of cuddles. Mercia is simply a pleasure to be around. She is strong initially but settles very well - unless a squirrel crosses her path! It’s clear that she takes a lot of reassurance from her walker - she managed to startle herself and straightaway looked to me to make sure everything was ok
She truly is a wonderful girl who would be an amazing addition to the right home.Re: Mercia Rottie x Lurcher DofB 04.10.18 Gatwick Kenns
Mercia and I had a lovely walk yesterday. We were passed by lots of dogs and a couple of bicycles going down the lane. Each time, she sat beautifully and waited whilst they passed, albeit with a little treat based distraction!
Sadly this is the only photo I got - each time I stopped to take one, she was straight over for a cuddle!

Today we had the pleasure of taking Mercia out for the afternoon to Buchans Park. She jumped in the car without hesitation and was very well behaved on the journey. We had a lovely walk around the perimeter of the park - Mercia was perfectly happy to pass other dogs so long as she was given adequate space.
We then headed off to the dog pool and popped on the long lines. Mercia was a little hesitant to begin with, but once I’d taken off my shoes and paddled in with her, she soon found feet! She spent a good half hour playing in the water - it was lovely to see.
As there were very few dogs around by this point, we left the long lines on and continued our walk. Mercia made the most of them but responded well to a simple ‘steady’ when reaching the full length of them.
We stopped off for lunch and in true lurcher fashion, she paid a lot of attention to the food. However, Mercia was very respectful and if she got a little too interested, a firm but gentle ‘leave’ sufficed. After a short while she decided she’d rather mooch around the bench than torment herself by watching us. Don’t worry though, she got a little something after we had finished
Mercia is such a fun loving girl and a real pleasure to spend time with. I absolutely adore this little smasher and can’t wait to take her out again, but I’d much rather she found her special home

I didn’t read that Mercia is part Rottweiler but that explains the lovely nature she has. I took her straight to a paddock as she was a bit bouncy exiting her kennel; I blame her neighbours winding her up through jealousy. . After a good sniff round she came over to me and leaned in for a stroke. We stayed locked together for a few minutes and then she went over to the door so we went for a short walk, it’s really hot today. Very keen to mark her territory we stopped at virtually every bush. She did pull a bit but nothing a reasonable fit person can’t handle.
