Snowdon Henry's Story: Snowdon Henry is a ex racing greyhound who was released to our Rescue so we could find him his retirement home. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Snowdon Henry is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Snowdon Henry was in boarding kennels near Gatwick then in foster with 4 other dogs whilst awaiting his new family.
If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and sadly due to unprecedented interest, we will only be able to contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Snowdon Henry's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Great walk today with Henry, who we took out with Orla who he's kenneling with. He's a really steady walker, no pulling, and keeps his focus on the track with the occasional interest on what's going on in the bushes. Really big fan of a stroke and a scratch behind the ears as well, he'll make a fantastic lad for someone.

Lovely Henry is such a serene boy. I grabbed the chance to walk with him yesterday and he is so relaxing to be with. Henry is in no rush and he does like to stop regularly to observe the squirrels.

I walked Henry for the second time today and again he was an absolute joy! He was quite nervous to begin with and wanted to walk right by my side, but with some treats and kind words he was soon more relaxed. You could see he was taking in his surroundings and looking for squirrels but he did not pull or react to anything at all. We stopped for a cuddle and a few treats before we said goodbye. He is so gentle and lovely I do hope he finds his forever home soon.

Henry has popped off into foster with Peter and his gang. Henry just smiled quietly, Alfredo approved and off they went.

Right, 24 hours in ... Henry is being a very good boy. Polite, biddable and shy, Henry's life is currently centered on his duvet (single bed size, folded in half) in the sitting room. He likes to know where I am - and Pat, who is here at the moment - and will follow out to the garden where he picks his way carefully through the plant life. When Henry is uncertain he does the most lovely leaning-in. He appears to be clean in the house. Henry is on the skinny side and tall enough to attempt to "help" (help himself!) when I made ham sandwiches. Mostly, however, a shy look and quick lick of the upper lip tells me he's hungry. Just watch out for that elegant nose in your tea or coffee mug!
So far Henry has largely ignored the home team and they have ignored him. Once or twice a bit of "Harpo-speak" has sounded rather interesting and Henry has crossed the room in two strides to investigate. A firm "No!" has been enough to halt further developments. Henry seems untroubled by the vacuum cleaner, the washing machine and traffic hitting the speed humps in the road outside but he is a bit puzzled by his own reflection. He walks nicely on the lead. Adorable

Henry is living with the 'little people' and they have someone to look up to! Thank you Peter and Pat.
