Cleo's Story: Cleo was found abandoned and unclaimed within a Leics. council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Cleo is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Cleo was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Cleo's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.

I met Cleo yesterday and was WOWED by her. She is very striking with her wrinkled boxer face, fabulous ears and the colour of treacle. She was keen to say hello when I entered her kennel and immediately she was up on her hind legs, paws wrapped around me and giving licks. Cleo was not so happy about the dog opposite who was shouting at her so we made a quick exit past the other kennels and once out and away from the kennels she chilled out completely, loose lead and taking the time to sniff and explore. She was a little too interested when we passed Archie and Beau but once they passed, she went straight back to her sniffing. She was admired greatly by a man who was passing. He had sadly just lost his boxer companion and he thought Cleo was rather stunning. Well, she is.

Oh dear my heart just skipped a beat

Cleo is such a friendly girl and loves human company. On entering her room this morning I was greeted with lots of cuddles. Cleo was so excited, she let all the other dogs know she was going out for a walk but soon settled and walked nice and calmly on the lead. I stopped several time on the walk and sat down and was rewarded with more Cleo cuddles. When we got back to her room it took ages to take off her harness and do up her suitical suit as she insisted on rolling around on her back, legs in the air, wriggling around, with the biggest smile on her face. She just laps up company.

My first walk with Cleo today, and what a sweetheart she is. She looked very fed up in her bed when I went into her room and then was greeted by a big hug and she wrapped her legs round my waist. On our walk, she didn't pull at all and did not react to any dogs we met along the way, she just had a good look and was alert. I found her a lovely young dog with lots of energy. Very affectionate, good natured girl.
