Ronnie's Story: Ronnie and Reggie were handed into a vets by their owner. The vets agreed to take them in to avoid them being given away on free adds. The vets kindly neutered them for us in gratitude of us being the only Rescue who would save their lives. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving their life. Ronnie and Reggie are now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Ronnie and Reggie were in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting their new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Ronnie and Reggie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: 10.07.19: A friend of the Rescue contacted us as her vets had taken in Ronnie and Reggie and hadn't been able to get any Rescue to help them They agreed to neuter them and also transport them to us.

Oh wow, cannot wait to meet Ronnie and Reggie
Re: Ronnie Mastiff x DofB 2017 Gatwick Kenns
I got to meet Reg and his brother Ron on Thursday. They were both still a bit 'under the influence' after their snip ops. They are a utter delight. Ron was a bit nervous as he has very sore eyes so was not keen on the harness going over his head. Reg is the more confident one.
They really are a great pair who obviously love each other. When Ron became nervous at times Reg would go over to reassure him. So sweet.

Ronnie and Reggie helped me with some taster walks yesterday - they did so well, I don’t think they are used to walking far but are a joy on the lead, lovely easy walk
We love walking the Kennels Dogs - would you like to join us?

Poor Ronnie is now recovering from his op to relieve the soreness in his eyes. He was feeling a bit sorry for himself this morning but was delighted to catch up with his brother Reggie for a walk. These two are so sweet together, very bonded and always looking out for each other.

Ronnie and reggie are the sweetest pair of brothers. They are missing each other terribly as at present they can’t share a kennel as Ronnie had to have an operation on his eyes as is currently sporting the cone of shame as he keeps rubbing them and so we took them for a lovely walk together. This pair really are very connected and walk so well together, they constantly check in with each other, making sure they are ok and wait for each other whilst the other does their business etc. Reggie is the more confident of the 2 but both are just so clam and sweet and we are just hoping that their special home who is happy to take them as a pair comes very soon. It really would be horrible to separate these 2 as their love is so obvious and as they are so good, very easy on lead and not too big hopefully a home together will be possible.

Lynne and in walked this gorgeous pair this morning to cheer them up. I walked Ronnie and omg what a heartbreaker, he is so lovely. They both are. Poor Ronnie is suffering with his eyes at the moment, but hopefully they will heal this week, bless him. They were back in the same kennel when I left, so much happier

Steph and I walked this joyful pair on Friday. They are lots of fun. Steph and Reggie strode ahead, Ronnie is happy to follow his brother, but the first to try to illicit a cuddle. Spent the rest of the day happily covered in Ronnie-love (muddy paws and licky wash). Poor Ronnie's eyes are still sore, but getting much better, and he's such a happy chap they didn't seem to bother him out on the walk at all.

What gorgeous natures, sweet boys these are. Ronnie is so friendly, walks wonderfully on the lead, friendly with joggers and didn’t seem too bothered by other dogs. A joyous pair who are very comfortable with human contact. Ronnie stopped on his walk for many many cuddles and at one point was resting his front paws on his brothers back :)
