Buster's Story: Buster was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a Midlands council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Buster is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Buster was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst he awaits his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Buster's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
26.1.19: Hi Lynne
Can you help with these 2 dogs please. Buster the Staffie again has been assessed as needing an adult home and some work before he can be offered for rehoming.
(Bella the terrier. Petrified in kennels and has a poor assessment. Needs training and socialisation before she can be homed.)
Both desperate cases and are at risk Mx
Hope you are well. I know you are still busy !!!

Buster arrived today and what a friendly, handsome boy he is. He greeted several volunteers happily in the car park and was patient while he had a new harness fitted and then was delighted to head off for a walk. He is a strong, determined boy but he walked nicely on the lead and posed beautifully for his photos. He took treats gently and was admired by a number of walkers. In fact having only been with us a few hours he already has a growing fan club.

What a gorgeous boy Buster is - I walked him with Anne when he first arrived and he is a natural in front of the camera 😍
Considering it was the first time he met any of us - he was so calm and friendly - i was instantly in love

woo.gif] Thank you guys for Rescuing Buster, upon first visit Amy was a bit cautious due to his boisterous ways and being a strong boy! However due to previous rescue experience I knew this would be different around the home, and I couldn’t of asked for a better dog!

From day 1 he’s been ever so greatful to be here, only 1 little toileting accident through pure excitement to see Amy come home which was such a joy to watch him turn into a soppy little chap (Not that I told you :P ) .. Still has many puppy traits and is loving going out exploring a new walking route everyday, still putting on his boisterous stance but slowly getting better learning to heel and walk nicely.

We have booked a basic training assessment for next month to try and conquer any teething problems between now and then and work on his response to commands.

But overall he is brilliantly behaved and a big bundle of joy bringing smiles to us both, as well as himself being a happy little chap in his new home :)

Thanks again - And to anyone considering rescuing but unsure.... 100% do it, these guys need you and will show you soo much more love and respect than any puppy ever will!

Hi Guys, thought I’d post a little update on Buster!

He’s had quite the journey with us and been on many fun adventures, had more toys than I remember (even if most only last 5 minutes) days out to various secure fields and a private dog pool, living his little doggy life to the full!

Despite developing ocular melanoma in his right eye which was treated with numerous drops daily for around 9 months, the time came for him to be the brave boy he is and have the eye removed.
An overnight stay at NDSR and the little pirate was super happy to be coming home again! Happier than ever bounding around (crashing in to a few things whilst he adapted, in true staffy style of course!).

He’s now fully healed and got used to the pirate life, at the age of 7 is still hanging on to crazy puppy ways full of character and getting up to mischief!

Thanks again guys, it may be time to find Buster a little companion soon! 🤗
