Sarge's Story: Sarge was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a North London council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Sarge is neutered, chipped, and vaccinations are in progress. Sarge was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Sarge's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: Adam in Broxbourne asked us if we could prepare Sarge and find him his new family.

What an amazing boy. I have a soft spot for Shepherds and Sarge has a wonderful temperament and is incredibly polite, calm and friendly. We hit it off straight away. After getting to know each other, Sarge stood patiently while I fitted his harness and collar. Then we headed off for a stroll around the wood. Although being quite a large boy, Sarge was very easy to manage on the lead as he just plodded along, checking out all the new smells and exploring his environment. He was very responsive and did not mind stopping while I took some photos and would sit for his treats, although he rejected biscuits in favour of the more tasty treats I had! 0002.gif]

Sarge is such an easy boy. He travelled as my front passenger today with 2 Jack Russells in the back of the dog mobile and he was chilled.

Here he is meeting cats.. There is interest but his attention is easily doistracted and he doesnt try to refer back or showing no keeness to go and remeet when revisiting the area.

Sarge is a beautiful boy and I honestly would have taken him home myself if I could!

He was was easy to get out the kennel, he was very patient and didn't pull to get out. He leant right into me to get a cuddle as well which was lovely!

Even though he's a big boy, his personality doesn't really match, he was so chilled with other dogs walking past, and we were with Fifi today but didn't pay any notice, he was happy just plodding along to sniff everything and had a loose lead all the way.

You can tell he has been socialised in the past, he had no problems with roads, dogs, people or walking on the lead. He would sit and give his paw for treats. He even had a funny thing of avoiding puddles as if to try not to get his paws dirty!

A lovely, kind natured boy. I can't see him staying for long! ❤

Sarge what a beautiful dog. Walked him
Yesterday in the wind and rain. Really calm putting his harness on and made me feel at ease for a new walker. He was a gentle boy on this relaxed walk. He doesn’t pull and is responsive on the lead. A lovely dog 🐕 I would love to have him.

Sarge spent the afternoon out with me today travelling through countryside as my front passenger.

Then came back and chilled

Such a good boy! Easy to get harnessed even though he was having a barking match with his next door neighboor 😂

Love this gentle giant!
