Daisy's Story: Daisy was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a North Kent council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Daisy is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Daisy was in boarding kennels near Guildford whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Daisy's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
Hello Lynne
I was given your contact details while searching for some urgent help with two dogs that we have in our pound. I appreciate that this is a busy time of year for you as it is for us at the Council.
We have a Staffie female called Daisy who was found as a stray on 15th November. She is high energy and untrained and although with some patience we can get her calm, she doesn't stay calm for long. She is dog reactive and is going to be so difficult to place without a lot of work which as a council pound, we haven't got the time to do.
We are not sure if Daisy is spayed (we have a neutering voucher for her) and roughly 3 years old. Both have microchips but details are not up to date - no response to letters sent to the registered addresses. Both have had their first vaccination and worm and flea treatment.
I wonder if you have any space or contacts to help we are struggling to find the best solution for both of these dogs and I worry for their future.
I have attached a picture.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Kim walked Daisy yesterday with me and Ezra. Daisy behaved beautifully, she walked nicely and was very friendly walking alongside, and saying hello to Ezra. No issues at all.

Daisy is such a lovely girl, easy to harness I clipped on the leads and off we went. I decided to take her to to the poets hut first for a cuddle but she was a bit more interested in the sausages I had in my bag :) though she did give me a couple of full face licks when she sat by me.

Daisy walks really well on the lead, no pulling, just interest in everything around her. Lots of sniffing and enjoying of the sights and sounds in the woods and wasn't afraid to plod through the plentiful mud.

A really sweet girl, Daisy would make a lovely addition to a family and I hope she finds her forever home soon.

I had the pleasure of meeting beautiful Daisy this week and she is truly what staffies are all about - full of affection and fun. She was so excited to give me proper Staffie cuddles and lots of smiles when I entered her kennel. We had a great run around in the paddock before going out and enjoying a lovely relaxing walk together. She is very good on the lead and no problem passing other dogs or people. She really is a beautifully natured girl - I cannot believe a young dog with such love and affection can end up on the street. I pray she finds a loving home soon as she will undoubtably bring much joy and happiness to anyone willing to invest in her. Until then, we all look forward to lots of fun times with you lovely girl.

Beautiful Daisy was a joy to walk today. She was very pleased to see me and enthusiastic to be getting out to explore for a while. She is still learning about the world and needed some encouragement to pass a swan in the river but she coped brilliantly with an over enthusiastic off lead dog and actually seemed quite keen to say hello to all the dogs we passed. It seems she also loves a biscuit and gives you a good sit and paw when one might be coming her way! Gorgeous girl Daisy love4.gif

Daisy is a stunning girlie. She is still only young and will need a family to continue her training. She isn't too keen with dogs getting really close to her, but has proven herself by walking well with two other kennel mates today (Sundance and Louie-Patterdale). She passed an onlead black lab and spaniel today and didn't even bark! She is very excited to come out of kennels, but once walking settles into a nice pace alongside you and doesn't pull (only for squirrels!!)

I hope she can find her forever home that will help her with socialising and give her the time/patience to settle into a home life.

I walked Daisy for the first time today and she was a very well behaved girl and an absolute pleasure to walk. Once away from the excitement of kennels she walks very calmly on the lead and loved sniffing and exploring her surroundings, and also loved attention. She either ignored or was friendly to the numerous people passing us on the path. No dogs came very close to us, but any interest in those nearby was with a friendly manner and she would turn her attention to me when asked and rewarded with treats - same with a horse in the field right by the path. To me, she seems quite different to the earlier photos of her at kennels when she was probably uncertain about what was going on, and she is now a happier girl, with her tail held up and certainly one of the waggiest! See the video below! She's a stunner as well - a passer by commented on her beautiful colouring. Combine that with her lovely personality and you've got a dog that won't be around for long, so don't wait to fill in a homing questionnaire for her!
